Need help - attach a badge to a board

Post by Grooter » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:43 pm

Recently some rather nice automotive badges came my way and I'm thinking of fixing one of them to my longboard. Don't ask why, it's complicated :)

The badges are your standard plastic automotive badges, no special materials and obviously I'd only want to be fixing them in place with glue

So the obvious question becomes, what kind of glue would do the job. Obviously its got to be salt-water resistant and able to be fixed to fibreglass.

Any advice/assistance would be much appreciated

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Use whatever resin is on your board.

Hatchy.. I would suggest using the same method as when you fix a ding..

Tape off the surrounding area and sand where you want the badge to go with 100 grit in order to create a receptive surface.

It would probably help if you roughed up the back off the badge as well..

8) I'd have suggested the same but maybe use a piece of 4oz cloth to cover and overlap the badge of honour, after sand and prep, then brush over resin to seal the whole shebang.

A classic badge like that would be pretty sweet, but I've got something more modern in mind
