Had plenty of opportunities for waves as working less. Had many insanely good surfs and felt like I had improved significantly, the first year in a long time I can say that. Surfed breaks further afield, less crowded which probably contributed to my surfing improving.

Learned I will never go cheap on a wetsuit again.

Scared myself in some of the biggest waves I've paddled out in for years, including a near dry docking mid winter.

Good surf when you ain't had none. Remember since this time last year opportunities for a hang at the beach have been limited in my neck of the woods. Fires everywhere then lockdown. Two trips to Crescent, one to the Central Coast and one down to Sandon. Yes, I could have driven further but local banks are fcukd.

Wasn't it Albert Einstein who said that the definition of insanity is driving over and over to the same shitty crowded beachbreak and expecting it to be different?

Surfed my backside off over Autumn and Winter, got my paddle fitness better than it has been in years and had some amazing surfs

Then Stage 4 kicked in for Victoria and my wetsuit has been dry ever since
