nup, the opposite effect.

Greater frequency of storms, more and bigger surf.

Low hanging jetstream can be a prob for Hawaii bringing stormy conditions.

Last Eddie went in an El Nino year.

Yep agree with Steve. North Pac pumps in an El Nino....well those west facing locations/coasts anyway (ie not sure of where your North Pac location is).
