With tropical water temps being quite high, it's hard to imagine they'd get any form of land breeze effect early morning? But I stand to be corrected.

Ah yeah Don the land breeze effect relies on the the water temperature being warmer than the land.

correct.

And Tonka, not sure of the ameehan monsoon effect in Taiwan but when I was in Northern Luzon, not that far away, it seemed to run on a 48hr cycle. ie it blew it's arse out for 24 hrs then the next 24 seemed a lot calmer. That could have been a local topographic effect from the sierra madre ranges but I'd keep an open mind and see what local effects apply when over there.

Was overhead and cross offshore this morning. Winds have backed off so tomorrow morning will probs be better.

Loving it. East swell, light winds, some whopping storms, warm water. Such a switch.

Next week from Tues onwards certainly has more size from the NE with a building trade wind swell but NE winds look woeful also. So if you can find a south facing beach outta the wind it might have some fun little windswell peaks to play with.
So, quick wrap up. You'll have to forgive me in advance for the lack of detail as it wasn't long till my brain clicked over to holiday mode. Had good waves most days with light cross offshore breezes in the morning and the odd afternoon session with light winds, though tended to be a mixture of swells. Size wise, it ranged from about 2ft to nearly double over head. Had a couple of days towards the end of my trip that were a bit of a let down - surf wise - as the winds were howling cross shore and a cold snap came through. Plenty to see in the area and the hot springs were a treat after a long surf. Not the ultimate surf destination but definitely a fun trip. Couple of pics attached.
