Autumn - How's it lookin?

What surfer doesn't care about the weather? Who hasn't predicted the arrival of a new swell? Do all of it here!

Hey Steve, I'm just wondering when do you ever call a spade a spade and admit the forecast was wrong? Here's your extract from your forecast today, wrapping up the swell from the weekend (where you forecast 2-3ft for Saturday and 2ft on Sunday for SE Qld/Nth NSW).

"The weekend ran fairly close to script with some well shaped leftover ENE swell on Sat in the 2-3ft range brushed clean by the offshore flow of a developing low in the Tasman. Sunday saw some clean smaller leftovers in the 2ft range with good shape on offer."

Please show me anywhere in SE QLD/Nth NSW that was 2-3ft on Saturday. Every report on SN came in at 1-2ft from what I saw, and the wave buoys reflected this. Sunday saw a definite new pulse of tradewind swell with an easy 2-3ft of swell on offer on Sunday....and most of the reports confirmed this along with wave buoy readings....bigger again at the swell magnets. (3ft+)

Yeah, sorry Don, happy to admit when something is over or under-called.

That fetch was a fizzer but I got a reliable report from Ballina on Sat arvo of 2-3ft surf.

Did you actually see it yourself?

I'm not sure Saturday arvo is Sat morning. The swell started to rise late on Sat arvo but that was from the fetch that produced the goods (2-3ft) on Sunday IMO. I recall your forecast was 2-3ft on Saturday morning, waning throughout the day to be 2ft come Sunday morning. My point was it was exactly the opposite. Small, weak 1-2ft on Saturday morning building late in the day, with still 2-3ft (3ft+ at the magnets) on Sunday.

No I didn't surf it, but I got reliable reports from both days.

Anyway, this is almost a week on from the event now so I'm happy to move on.

And I'm happy to admit the call was wrong.
It won't be the last.
Thanks for the heads-up.
