Post by Natho » Fri Feb 24, 2012 2:47 pm

Calling all realsurf forecasting gurus. What's your take on swell forecast for the next two weeks in Hawaii (Oahu and Maui). Swell went nuts a couple of weeks ago but what's the go for next week and the following week now that the circus has left town D :D

In a sentence: looks like an active North Pac storm track with systems coming off the Kurils and tracking N/NNE supplying at least moderate winter surf and mod/strong trades into next week at least.
Strong NW swell Tues that could fire up H Bay.

Natho, you going back to Hawaii this season?

Or have you already been.

If so, would you consider bringing back a gopro for me if I paid you upfront?

Yep, swell looks good. Winds could be the big X Factor with latest GFS showing a cyclone out near Fiji around this time (although I personally think GFS may be having a wee brain explosion with the long range charts!!!).

Yeah, that's still almost 2 weeks away, and with model reliability at it's lowest of late, ask us again in about 5-7 days time.

pa it's really looking good for the coming 10-12 days and probably further out.

A lot of good storms coming off Japan and setting nice tracks up and down the jet stream line.

Plenty of WNW to NNW swells in the overhead to 3x overhead range, good solid Pipe, Sunset, Haleiwa all in the 8-12' range. Winds variable to good trades.

Fcuken great time to be going to the Nth Shore.
