Post by marcus » Fri Sep 24, 2010 10:41 am

Gday weather gurus.
anyone have any predictions for the weather and seas off coffs harbour this weekend?
im going on a game boat after kings and snapper.
apparently the coffs coast weather can change from good to bad pretty quickly.
cheers

Winds are looking good up here on the Sunny coast, I'm gunna try and sneak out on Sunday morning.

Should be pretty good down there as well, though if it's N'erly, the winds will be a bit stronger down there. Should be pretty good conditions early both days.

How'd ya go Marcus, did ya get out?

Great conditions up here. Light NW'er early, then just sheet glass. Was a few waves around too, I buzzed in close to a-bay and sunshine and there were some fun lookin' beachies.

Just a quick sesh, had the boat on the trailer and washed by 9 am. The beauty of fishing in close.

Hey tiger
I assumed it was a specialty trip targeting species (kings and reds)
thats what my mates had told me to get me to go.
turns out it was one of those charters with 12 people all on one side of the boat, big lead sinker and 2 baits.
wait till you think you have a nibble and wind up 50m of crappy stretchy nylon to see if you have a fish on the end,no fight at all. fishing for dumbies.
the three of us filled a tub with snapper, trag and Pearl perch, even with me throwing most back in.
not into that type of fishing at all.

This friday i'm on a charter off the central coast that specialises in Kings on jigs and lures and only 7 on board. and i can use my own gear.
he gets results though and other boats follow him around.

looks like you did allright too.

on anoher note, been scoring bass to 32cm at a weir down here almost every 2nd cast sometimes. they are all moving back upstream. been throwing them over the weir wall so they can keep going.
