winna. how's it lookin?

What surfer doesn't care about the weather? Who hasn't predicted the arrival of a new swell? Do all of it here!

OK finally a chart you can sorta half believe.

Hmmmm, perhaps Autumn isn't dead just yet, with long range modelling hinting at more of a typical autumn pattern of a semi stationary high over NZ longitudes??

I was looking a little further out into the model runs than this weekend ER. More into mid next week, and I see the super long range (mid-late next week) EC is sniffing at some potential low pressure developments off the east coast, cradled nicely by a stalled high pressure system on it's southern flank :D :D

God, Jesus.
Help me.
I am sniffing something in the wind.
Nothing remotely scientific, mind.
Some kind of barbaric and atavistic rumbling in the spleen or kidneys.
We have waited patiently Huey, we shall not forget.

How's the swell in the water up here at the moment Steve? Damn impressive period and swell heights from the S/SE. I've got some pics of the Tweed from this morning that shows solid 6ft sets....it's a south facing beach.

Will post pics later when I can.

was some solid 6ft sets across the place this morn.
Twas expecting a more serious NW flow but calm conditions prevailed till mid-morn.
ASCAT cut off the relevant part of the fetch.

Gee, if the latest long range EC comes off, Sydney and the south coast could well be in for some flooding rains, come early-mid next week!!!

Fair to say GFS and EC couldn't be further divergent at the moment though.

Water is always still warm at the start of winter. Coldest water temps are in Spring.
