According to NC's crystal ball, Winna's meant to be a winna!

From the entrails of the goat i just sacrificed, all i can see are...well...entrails.
Anyone know how to read goat entrails for swell ?

Looking at the latest charts and I would have to say that the season's look as though they're changing yet again.....into a good winter pattern, with what I think could well develop into your first ECL come mid-late next week.....some serious cold air predicted to push out over the very warm Tasman around Wednesday/Thursday next week!!!

well I just killed one of my cats ... but before it died, it managed to scratch out a graph charting the likely extreme wave action events along the eastern Australian coast for the next three months.

unfortunately, because it was a cat, I dismissed its predictions and finished the gory fcuken job.

For us SE Qlders, I think it's best we enjoy the party whilst it lasts over the next week or so, as me thinks the winter changing of the guard is just around the corner!!!

Warm SSTs and cold pools of air... keep an eye on this time next week off the north nsw coast 8)

God I'd love this time of year, if i weren't stuck on the shore with a busted knee! No doubt this run of swell will continue until it's time to get back in the water...

Yes I just noticed that on both the long range GFS and EC charts. Surely those models are having a brain explosion if they expect a low pressure system to form that far north this time of year!!!!

Thanks Nick. So I take it then that you're favouring the latest GFS scenarios over the EC modelling?

EC modelling is always crap. Sth hemi seems out of their league.

I don't believe any of the modelling right now actually. Of course this has an up side: things could turn out better than forecast. But try to look four days ahead this May off eastern Australia and you'll surely be off the mark, flashy super computers notwithstanding.

Thanks Nick. I see that EC has come into line more with GFS now, and in fact the split low pressure systems may actually favour SE Qld more so now anyway, but as you've indicated, that's post 5 days out so let's expect change between now and then.
