Wild and wooly, although not bank bustin yet it's pretty big and getting bigger. Howling south wester and just shy of 100mls. :-? Think the banks will struggle and hello dirty water again- awesome.

No rain here, mod SW winds, rising SE swell.

I think we were just far enough north to escape the storm and get the swell :-)(

Looks like its set up shop from Port to just north of here :x

The saving grace is its a south wester so savvy punters may score somewhere around here.

Hope you score some nice waves then Steve.

That was the first one I got. The first of two.

slaloming through that pack took most of the wave.

I'm nervous for my little bank. The swell size on Saturday will be perfect for it, but 40knots of southerlies and the way the current rips into there.

I think it's all going to get washed out to the back storm bar.

It's busted bank bonanza here now. Surf was double the size of the morning by dusk tonight. A washing machine.

Deadset. We will go this year. I might even buy a go pro for it.

Shit I just looked. It's this weekend!

I feel a little sick, knowing all that is going on in Casino and I'm 150 kays away.

I'm passing through Casino today en route to Wiangaree. Hopefully some of that Beef Week magic will be present. :-)( :-)(

How did the Ox fare in the end Steve?

yesterday was really fun.

today, too stormy. I think the speed with which that low is heading E will save the banks from too much of a pounding.

Not that the banks are anything that grand to be saving.

Come on Braithy, Shearer or NC. One of you journalist types needs to attend. A thing of such importance needs a professional story teller. It is above us mere mortals. We would be eaten alive.

Big drop here this morning. Still big and stormy ATM with groms contesting the only surf able wave at a super protected spot. Water was filthy though. See what the banks are like late tomorrow and Monday. Unfortunately the flooded creeks will have gouged some holes at some real promising set ups.

I actually went with my wife and kids in 2011. I was foolishly naive, lived relatively close, and didn't know any better.

After spending over 20 minutes finding a park, and walking uneasily into the central nerve centre of Casino, we were approached by a crazy haired woman holding a child.

"Don't even think about going in there," bellowed the rotund woman, grimacing behind wind cracked lips as she pointed to the giant comical castle swaying in the dry Casino breeze.

"Some arsehole's done a shit innit."

And with that, she disappeared through the throng of unwashed people holding her son closely to her body.

We abruptly turned around and left. Our Beef Week was over.

One day I'll be back, and I have a feeling it'll be with Shearer and a flotilla of go pros capturing every angle.
