Post some pics Steve. Eastern suburbs are a write off. Marourbra had giant mush burger lefts breaking way out, starting further back than Mahon pool. Few punters out at malabar in their 52 litre firewire 6'8 funboards, trying to scratch into fat garbage lefts at shoulder high.

Zigged instead of zagging and put in a bit more effort, scored 2-3 ft (4ft wide) barrels to myself.

Would've actually preferred some company. Brown water and two things with fins bumped my board. They were probably 50cm trevally but they still got the heart going.

Fcuk it was cold in the wind.

Looks unruly and too shifty. Somewhat out of control from the pic.
You get through it unscathed?

Clovelly was breaking from out behind the pool right through to the pebble. Actually kind of looked like there could have been a wave running down into Gordons Bay. Too windy and wet to even get out of the car though.

I wasn't surprised it was garbage if that's what you think.

Reckon even dolls point would've had waves today on the outgoing tide

I got a perfect rock-off, almost made the safety of open water then got about 20 on the head and ended up down near the boat channel.
45 minutes of paddling, back up the coast and out to sea. Caught a wide set of about ten ten footers on the head. Finally got into the take-off spot and speared a 10 footer, really nice late technical drop, rode it too long and then on the way back out with the swell still building wore about 20 10-12-15ft waves on the head.
That all felt wonderfully relaxing.
Came in with a head as red as a beetroot , but feeling chipper.
Had another look at it in the arvo but it was still wild as hell, just too many massive close-out sets.

Tomorrow. Hopefully will get the wave count up a bit before it drops.

Excellent work. Even to bag just one.
