Surely somebody will leap to the defence of the baby seals.

After all, Capn Watson has headed north for the winter to headbutt the harp seal hunters. Are they not as potent symbolically as humpbacks...or is it just none of our business?

It's funny you raise that Nick. I spent a winter in Canada and the media is FULL of anti sealing debate. Same level of activity almost to a tee that we use to beat sense into the Japanese. Including cute school girls from local sit coms with save the (insert mammal) T-shirts putting together little petitions.

I don't wear fur personally but plenty of people in Canada do, so lots of meat is murder, buckets of red paint being thrown around etc etc. I guess due to our climate and the fact we dont have people living at latitudes blow 50 degrees where you need to wear fur, the fur debate here is fairly mute.

Might have something to do with feeling it in your waters  fight the battles in our waters and let them fight for what's in their waters, as they do (re longinus).
If it's well engineered it's beautiful .
