Re: post your modern day sickness

Nick, reading that MC board report and it might be time to remind you of a recent conversation I had with MC down at Bells: Natho: Maurice that 5'8 Mermaid I got is going insane. Time to step up and try a Pro Tow I think? Maurice: Yep go a Pro Tow. Let's sort it out. Natho: Yeh but looking at the th...

Re: Ask Carroll

Oils are still one of the greatest live acts I've ever seen. Up there with the likes of AC/ DC. Saw Rob Hirst in Newport the other day. He is pretty open about what he thinks about Garrett's dreadful shot at being a politician.

Re: post your modern day sickness

I have a Golden Gun Hayden made me from like 6 or 7 years ago and I love it. Ride it about 2 or 3 times a year. 6'4 x 18 1/4 x 2 1/4. Pretty long compared to my standard boards however there's something about riding a bit of extra rail length when the waves are good and you can just lay it on rail a...

Re: post your modern day sickness

True but that's only coz I'm not as fat as Nick so can go a little smaller.

I am sure Nick will let me know if he wants to off load an MC though.

Re: post your modern day sickness

Rode the Pro Tow for the first time over the weekend. 5’9 x 18 ½ x 2 1/4 Conditions were steep 3 foot beachies. Slight bump. Not the most ideal conditions for this board. Got around 7 waves on her, about 4 of those were good enough to get a pretty good initial feel for the board. First thing I notic...

Re: Ask Carroll

I'm keen on the reef to reef. Just that the board I'm using is so fckin narrow I cant kneel on it. So I will just have to paddle the khunt lying down the whole way.

Re: Ask Carroll

Beerfan as per Braithy a 10'6 is perfect for what you want. I paddle 4-5 days per week for fitness (and because I'm addicted). I used a 10'6 for a year and it was perfect. I used it for some mid range paddles outside as well as in the surf zone now and then for fun when it was no good for surfing. B...

Re: Ask Carroll

Nick, I know you have covered this before however I can't find it. What fins have you found suited to the deep concave MC boards (Futures range)?. Looking for some Futures to put in a pro tow. If its anything like the Metro I had off MC, these boards are very sensitive to fins and I found less fin b...

Two of my fav boards are Pyzels. One of them is up there with the best HPS boards I think I've ridden. Fits like a glove.

I wonder if Red Bull funded RCJs medical bills after he rotted his guts out drinking the stuff (and other things)?

Re: Ask Carroll

Thanks Nick. for me the tri suit is probably more about getting me into the open water at 5am mid winter when its freezing cold rather than float. been offered a brand new $980 rrp suit for $140. reckon I will try it and I don't like it I can flog it to some other poor bastard on realsurf. If Gauly ...

Re: Ask Carroll

Nick, what are those Triathlon wetsuits like for ocean swimming? Just getting into a bit of swimming for cross training and I have been offered a good suit for a fraction of its worth. Supposedly it will help an average swimmer like me stay on top for longer?

Re: Jeffreys Bay Pro 2015

I can't believe all you f^kkz fell for it. This is just a classic marketing tactic by the WSL to increase future viewer numbers of their silly little comps. They sent that f6kka out there people. It was a set up. I would also not be surprised if Tony Abbott was also involved. To take the media atten...
