Re: "More" surfboards board porn!

Hey Cuttle - they had a board named after you at the Fish Fry - its was called a Cuttlefish and was by a Hawiaan maker (didn't catch his name or brand or a pic for you sadly). But it was a wide area quad with curved in fins and the deck was sccoped out like a spoon knee board. Not like a full Greeno...

Re: Anyone ridden a McTavish SUMO?

Not fully decided on boat yet Ric - depends on timeslot and our joint availability. As to ability - sheiza - my back is crap, got arthritic knees and another hernia to get corrected beforehand. So nothing too much is different te he 8 foot will be my standby if I'm too crippled - and I've got the Qu...

Re: Anyone ridden a McTavish SUMO?

Ric - the old Nth Steyne crew (6 takers I think) are talking another Nth Sumatra trip - so I was going to make this for then - just looking for some versatility and looking at set ups. Carlton St - yes It just came to me "Tim Duff" doh! Jeff Duff was the lead singer of a band who did a take off of David Bowies Ziggy stardust i reckon. He's still playing around now - but you can be lucky- or not to see him on one of his good nights or one where things have gone haywire for various ...

Re: Sydney Board Rider Clubs

Nice one Carlton St!! Lots of names there that I recall very well and that Contest that was held at Carlton St was quite a pretigeous event to win along that strip - if we are talking the same contest. George Stanachef came second to Mickey C from Manly I think and I recall there were good/typical b...

Re: Sydney Board Rider Clubs

Yep - Peter Hall it is and yes I mthat cover shot too. Lot of good goofy footers down that part of the beach due to the famous Carlton St left and when there was big southerly swells that stretch between the North Steyne pipe and Manly pipe sure got their fair share. Its funny for one stretch of bea...
