Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
Those zak boards are shaped by the man hinself. You can tell as he signs his name and dims. in the deck center, and writes 'peace' on the tail.
On the other i doubt they would give a license to someone who could not faithfully reproduce what is essentially a lifes work.

Loofy, Rhino Laminating are the agents for Campbell Bros. Aside from Malcolm Campbell doing an annual shaping stint here, Mike Psillakis shapes them.
Or you can buy one stock. There may be a few places that stock them, Shop Next Door and Zak Surfboards are two I know of.

Re: 6'8" Campbell Bonzer
Matty, how much do you weigh? You are a big unit no? In all honesty I don't think it would do over the early 90's kg, but each to their own. This was custom shaped for me at 86/87kg and decntly fit 47 last year. I have gone a Russ Short in similar dims. and it would have at least 10% more volume, an...

Re: new short board for big...old...guy...
May I suggest get in touch with Ron Goddard at Coffs. he does the volume/performance tradeoff very well and is a true custom shaper.
I have three of his boards and they are all excellent.

Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
The glass job is regular 6/4/4, albeit with the tail patches. its a little heavier due to the blank density, but not a great deal.

Re: Building the ultimate trendy Mid-Length.
Ok Beery and you other vicarious hooverers, some more bonzer pRon. Dims are 7'2" by 21 1/4" by 2 11/16". (Myself 48, 182cm, 87kg.) The only thing even vaguely retro is the planshape. The rails and rocker are pretty contemporary thru my eyes. Low entry rocker but a fair kick thru the back 1/3, low so...

Re: surfing tips and tricks.
OK on the tricks side, apart from the ancient deck soaping trick, on any board with removable fins, on your mates board put one or two of them on backwards,
trust me, quite often they don't find out until the first wave.

SOLD 6'8" Campbell Bonzer SOLD
OK gents, here's your chance to get a Malcolm Campbell…. 6'8" by 20 3/4" by 2" 3/4 Would suit say 80kg (if you like a little more volume) to 90kg or maybe more (if you're pretty bloody fit) Rounded pin, medium rails, contemporary rocker, slightly fuller plan shape, slightly thicker foil, but by no m...

Fair enuff. I'm only after some context for my own edification as to some of the comments in this thread. The camera angle on those webcasts MAY make things look quite differnt to reality for want of a better expression. Remember the Pipe contest webcast which seemed to be mainly shot from a quite o...

Re: Fiji 2014
A tangential question. On my one and only surf trip to Fiji, all I surfed was Namotu and Wilkes.
So all else equal, if you give Namotu/wilkes say a 5/10 on the hairy scale for arguments sake, where do CB and Ristorantes rate.?
