think he has been looking at to many full deckgrip setups with that wax job lol

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

by smaller muscles I mean the flexors and psoases which connect your lower back to your groin and upper legs via the pelvis. These muscles are big contributors to fluid movement and fine control in all whole body movements. They're much ignored because they're pretty much invisible, unlike the big ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

fcuk yeah. Bombies all lit up. No-one out...again! No one out? I thought you lived in Sydney? well rustt you may find this difficult to grasp but the Sydney coast is a really fantastic place to be a surfer. There are no reeling Lennox type points but there are lots of pretty good quality beach brea...

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

Keep going Brendo, physical activity is completely underrated for your mental health imo. Side note, fkukking my knee was the best thing that's happened to me imo, as far as taking care of myself, as funny as it sounds. yea I know. I go nuts sitting around doing nothing. even sitting is hard right ...

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

Well that's great beery. Try to focus on feeling the various muscles doing the work. The kick works all the abdominal layers plus the hip flexors and psoases, which sorta activates control of the lower back. After a couple of weeks of it you should start learning to stretch all those smaller muscle...

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

hey nick, got some fins on the weekend and been doing those butterfly/dolphin type kicks you told me to do. geez good workout! helping with the back a lot, the actual motion I think is kinda stretching out my spine and im hearing a lot of cracking going on. went to the pool today limping, right now ...

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

Well, I'll bet they're not "fine" but I get your point. Stress itself kills. Few years ago a 50 something bloke from work, keen surfer, regular indo trips, super lean, had a stroke. Last I heard he was wheelchair bound. He was always stressed, no one ever knew why, he was good at his job, but just ...

Re: swimming/paddling/misc water sports.

It's cruel that people who take care of themselves so well can die of a heart attack. talking about that with my physio yesterday. there has been a heap of guys I know or read about in last few years who die suddenly in their 40s from heart attacks and they are generally fit guys who look after the...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

You need a job to live in Sydney......ie most people are working at least 9-5 5 days a week. thats another factor. most of the guys I see around Cronulla during the week are semi retired or retired guys, then some tradies having a surf if its ok. any size during the week the carparks are pretty emp...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Well Monday was a doozy. As discussed I'd done my knee in a Dad Related Injury but it didn't seem too bad once the nurofen kicked in, went out slowly and gingerly to Sandon where as I paddled out the wind went nuts and put it to the sword. Took off on a decent one, didn't make the take off and snap...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I came out of the weekends swell/paddle-fest with some weird injuries. Got this stabbing whiplash thing in my neck and a strange tendonitis ache, that robs me of strength in my right elbow. I can't remember any savage wipeouts. get that looked at shep, that sounds like refered pain from one of your...
