Re: Surf spots all time today monday Nov 17th 2009
Here's a rather poor camera pic of Bronnee from this morning. Solid but wobbly, mostly closing out, everyone was getting swatted. Not very all time.

Re: Manly Tsunami?!?!
how come manly gets to have a tsunami, whats so good about manly? :D yep - that's what happens when the media are short on news. Pump it up and put a local taint on it. Forget the odds, just put the fcuking fear of god into anyone living in a low lying area with an event that has a probability of m...

Re: What's the largest wave you've ridden?
Couldn't say exactly how big it was. Hazard a guess at 10ft with bigger bombs. Tamarama, late 70's. I was young and immortal. Early morning, out of control ground swell, glassy conditions but shifty peaks. Got one that didn't swat me so the confidence built up (fractionally). Next one developed ledg...

Re: What's the largest wave you've ridden?
I'm also with Iggs on the wave measuring system. That's how most guys i know do it and it doesn't really matter if it's right or wrong as long as everyone understands what it means. If I tell a mate it's 6ft onshore mush, he'll know what to expect - as long as the paradigm is accepted and understood...

If the theory of less rake = more pivot is true then those fins look the goods if you want more 'thruster like" pivotability in a quad setup.Cpt.Caveman wrote:On a side note, has anyone tried these fins? Or something similar?

Like that word - pivotability.

This has turned into a 'Babe of the Day' thread,
or maybe it's 'Babe of Yesterday' thread.
Either way, they still cut it.

Round 2 point scores
KS - 14.36
OW - 14.83
Fcuk all in it, less than half a point. Not a very convincing loss.

Hmm...I'd love to try a traditional keel fin fish just to see how fast they really are.
Answer - pretty fast but only cause they don't have much rocker or centre fin drag. IMO.

What the fcuk is going on over there :?:  They have swell and good winds (according to the charts), yet they keep stalling round 3 off in half hour intervals. If the tides are screwing things, stop pretending. Epic swell, offshore conditions and stop start, stop start, stop start. It's like a ...
