Re: The Guiness Book of Surf Trip Toilets

Across the road from the todd tavern in Alice springs lies the most foul and wretched toilet known to man. True story. Surf good there? I rode a mini mal from in the todd river telegraph station to Old Timers camp at Xmas during the floods. Had to dodge some turds (literally) and a few dead animals...

Across the road from the todd tavern in Alice springs lies the most foul and wretched toilet known to man. True story. went in to the male toilet looking for a kid hiding there from the police. Poo everywhere, in the sink, in the bin in the trough wiped on the walls. Nappies stuck to the walls. I he...

Re: How do I learn this stuff?

Buoyweather is a great site for reasons Shearer just listed. Tells you swell direction and period. Anything with S will be refracted to the point where SE Qld will get little or none at all. But that's letting someone else do the work for you. I only know the absolute basics: Do you know how High pr...

Got up at Four, went on a mission south. 2 foot little A-frames loving the light NW on them.

Back at 8:30, wife barely noticed me gone.

Super stoked! :D

Re: Swell for Chopes

NC's doing a pretty bang-up job at ASL too. I don't read magazines online or in print ... After working in 'em for half a decade, there's too much motivation within them to keep advertisers on side and happy at all times which imo skewers a fair percentage of real stories, real accounts and the tru...

if not i'd just be inviting tyre-kickers and time-wasters, and that'll make me angry What type of wax are you using there Iggs? Will you include a piece of legrope string if I pay with cash? Since the board is predominantly orange, I will have to rejig my whole winter waterwear wardrobe to match. S...

Re: Tufflite boards

^ i've had a crack on one of those MR super twin tufflite boards. the float factor of tufflite, coupled with the looseness, sit high and go like clappers down the line attributes of the twin fin make it great for small bowly stuff, and zips past any section that looks like its gonna fold. but if th...

Re: Tufflite boards

I went down the coast on Thursday for a coupla hours visiting a mate and his wife who just had a boy and he had a MR super twin (tuflite) ... We went and surfed some 2foot lefts at a semi secret spot in a national park. It was alotta fun. I've thought for a while every quiver needs a MR super twin. ...

Re: How many boards per year get made in Australia?

I've heard a certain prominant shaper on the goldy, who has several machines and no less than 4 finishers (and up to 8 or 9) can pump out 500+ boards per week. It was a competing shaper who told me this, so I took it with a grain of salt. But still ... If he can put 500 plus per week that would aust...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

A few 2-footers up the beach, double and tripleing up and closing out onto my head . Had to get wet though, after a couple days of stayin' dry. Love those days, always interesting and provides some fun sections. It's true. In between the sets there was a little right which was rideable for about 5-...
