Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yeah it's pretty early for the southerlys, they'll probably come and go for a while. The best thing is that the surf reports get it wrong about half the time now

Re: Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2017

I just watched the highlight reel (the only footage I've seen), and I've gotta say, it was only about 2 minutes, but it was fantastic watching pro surfers deal with very testing conditions... brilliant! I guess it would be like seeing tennis or cricket being played on a neighbourhood scratch up pitc...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Winds were onshore here yesterday in the early morning so I went and checked Nusa Dua. Light onshore there too, big solid sets coming through, just four out. It looked like really hard work. If it was Sydney everyone would have been frothing. Went back and didn't catch waves in much more pleasant co...

I've managed to get my boards down from 15 last Christmas to 6!

Astounding but true.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yesterday was too small in the early morning, had a few mellow waves with half a dozen out late morning. By 3pm the swell had picked up to head and a half, a light offshore, and it was peeling off perfectly, dead low and no one out. It was sectioning a bit fast, so I was pulling out after 20-30m, go...

A friend had trouble making an insurance claim after an incident where he stopped at a set of lights and an elephant on a low loader plucked off his side wing mirror

Yeah it happened BD. I don’t judge anyone for that stuff but Owen had a serious problem.
Should they be testing pro surfers for drugs?

Re: Quiksilver Pro France 2017

i love how filipe conserved his energy in that last one. couple of barrels not even trying. obviously his head is filled with a chaotic pile of all sorts of moves. the infamous "tree of variations". no doubt we'll soon be seeing him drag out of the marsh the hippopotamus. I somehow realized that it...

Fcuk off Jimmy, now why would anyone ever bother to try or even bother to write another report after that. Lets just close this thread down on that high note.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

MM is a noted member of the The Queen's English Society. He demands rhyme and metre in poems. Members of the group, set up to defend the 'beauty and precision' of the English language, have turned their attention to contemporary poetry and poets, arguing that too often strings of words are being lab...

Re: Kelly's wave.

It was a pretty fun night. Some very passionate poetry lovers getting drunk together and struggling to remember words. I think there might have even been a fist fight over some misheard something in "Second Coming". Luckily I was lying behind the bar by then thinking about the best way to communica...

GSTQ would have started off with that surprised look on his face just like Mick when Andy slapped him, but morphing into a look of confusion and disbelief as the man hug reached its apogee.
