Re: fore skins

i change fins too. i use 3 boards regularly & use 3 types of fins: K2.1, M5 & K3 glass. i can get 9 different combinations that directly relate to size of wave, drive, manoevrability, strength of swell (or lack of) & surface conditions: choppy, clean, etc. my surfing benefits from this choice, but i...

skips it seems you are very passionate about this altercation, but after re-reading your posts, you are all over the place! love the analogy of "washing off the ultra violence", sounds a bit clockwork orange -ish! After seeing the pics, I agree - total over reaction and no excuse to service an alrea...

Re: how long till- you can't buy a locally built board

Love the beer analogy, beerfan. fong is right and as long as people want an epoxy retro fish replica, no matter how poorly it rides, that they can walk in & pick up off the shelf - they'll do it and drive the market further. That sort of accessibility to a variety of product is almost irresist...

Re: Pro Surfing or UFC?

after seeing the ASL website photos, IMHO there is no justification for Sunny to get involved.

looks like the local guy was punching above his weight with Flores, anyway. maybe picked a fight that he should've walked away from.

Re: camper vans/campers at local

The carpark near my place has huge signs with a whole list of things on it like: No camping No dogs in and around the lake (dog exercise area is on the beach north of the sharktower) no motorbikes no powered craft in the lake most on the list are there to protect beachgoers, who are there to enjoy a...

Re: camper vans/campers at local

Why does everyone have a problem with eurotrash backpackers camping in their back yard? They add much needed colour to the increasingly sterile vision of the east coast. What if its a van full of swedish hostesses? Personally its the irish biff heads and the poms that get me angry. As far as pommie...

Re: camper vans/campers at local

yeah they're up here too, guys, on the sunny central coast. Wicked vans, Juce vans, rusty vans, BRIT campers...... the list goes on.... not only do they tell their mates, but one tourist showed me a printout from a British backpacker site on "carparks that you aren't likely to be fined", ie, good fo...

Re: on the boil

funny jimmy90210,

you've either got it on the wrong day, trying to surf it when it only has 6ft faces (or smaller) , or too scared to go out when it's big.

Re: on the boil

great info marcus. good for the guys who are inexperienced in surfing points, reefs, etc. in addition to this, i use this to get my fair share of waves out at the Haven, when it's big. experienced guys can usually takeoff on or behind the boil to get on the wave before others who are not so keen on ...

nice scale, iggs - i like it...

however, explain to me a 3ft wave that has a 6ft face that is just overhead ???
you MUST live on the Northern Beaches!!

i love your calls on 7, 9, 11, 13, 14 ft waves!! i agree, these do NOT exist in the surfing world!!!

how big is RCJ's melon?

i've seen it from about 5 metres away and it looks largely disproportionate to the rest of his body, given he's a stocky short arse.

Re: Chicks, how big is yours?

Girls, I was wondering what size boards you all ride. I always found the boys suggestions about appropriate board size a little too small for me to catch anything at my kooky level. I am on the small side at 5'2" and 50 kg so i found getting it hard to get a good beginners board. I've got a 6'10" (...
