Sunburn beany. Don't forget, we only see the sun for 45 minutes every summer. If we're lucky

Re: The winter of our content.
With the hood/long sleeve spring suit combo? Gotta be. There's a bit of a stiff and upright depowering of the second half of the turn going on, if you don't mind me saying steve. Do you suffer from a bad back?

Re: Fiji Pro 2015
I'm finding myself very indifferent to the whole pro surfing circus at the moment. I watched a bit of a heat in Rio with a little Brazilian fella doing these zippy air reverses to beat a very uninterested-looking JJF and, rather than marvelling at the undoubted athleticism and skill, instead was rem...

A friend just did a whole winter in the 3/2 flashbomb (water got down to 6 or 7). Said he was fine.Legion wrote:
You guys inspired me to pull out my new f bomb from a secret drawer in the shed. No waves until Monday but. It's flatter than tay-tays chest (pre-enhancement) right now.

a mate had one of the first rip curl (I think) hooded zipperless 6/4s. watching him get in and out of that was amusing

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
good wetsuits make it easy. when I was a kid I was always freezing and covered in rub. we didn't even have proper hoods back then, just shitty neoprene skull caps like what clubbies wear
it's still basically winter mind you. once it warms up a bit it'll be knocking on for 20 degrees

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
The Xcel Drylock is indeed a great suit. I've been toasty in my 4/3 in 9-10 degree water in the last couple of months. I thought it might even replace my 5/3 if I used it with the heated vest but no, 8 degrees is probably its limit. Still impressive though steve, the removal of chest zips is all abo...

Yeah when I went in July 2009 (I think) it was exclusive access, although they weren't limiting surfer numbers to 45 like they do now that World Surfaris has wrested control. Where did you hear that Pasta Point had gone public? All the agents are still claiming it's restricted to 30 surfers and excl...

Re: HOLY MALE
We had a couple of honest six foot (australian) days at lohis. A bunch of israelis who'd turned up the night before all snapped their boards within the first half hour then spent the rest of their holiday walking up to random people demanding that they sell them a 6'8. You can't fault their boldness...

Great read as usual steve. D'you think Slater was cheating a bit with his board? He seemed to find zip and flow while the whippersnappers he was up against were nothing but bog and hop

Les Menuires in France. We only had three days skiing so I only had one proper run and spent the rest of it teaching my kid and her cousin. Strangely enjoyable in a masochistic kinda way

Re: General snow stuff
Cheers, Legion, boo, Ron etc for the excellent advice earlier re skiing with kids. Probably got about 4 hours skiing in every day around the hot chocolate, lunch and sledging breaks and she was off the magic carpets and linking turns down an easy green by the end of day three, so happy days. Take ho...
