Next board ?

The logs 'n' eggs discussion seems to have slowed a lot. So what have you all got in mind for your next board ? I've got a 9 footer on the way from Mark Rabbidge that should be ready in around 2 weeks and will probably get an 8 footer later in the year.
I'm interested in what Roy's hatching up.

Re: Off to Thailand

The missus is going to Thailand but not to the Cobra factory. I was hoping Empowered would jump all over it like the flogging he gave the other guy for asking about a 7 s fish. I am thinking of getting an SUP for core strength training and paddling in the river down the road from my place . After th...

Off to Thailand

My wifes heading off to Thailand in around 4 weeks time so she's going to check out the Cobra factory for me in the hope that she can score me a mal or maybe a SUP. Has anyone been there and checked it out ? Is it possible to score a cheap board there?

Re: Thinking of getting a longboard - suggestions

A Tolhurst could be good. I'm sceptical about Powerglides but I have seen some people ride them well. I have never seen anyone surf a big nugget forcefully. I can see the advantage of a big fat butt for catching waves but how about if its hollow? The answer seems to be-Oh, it looks a bit rough, let...

Re: Thinking of getting a longboard - suggestions

Why dont you go back to Grant and get him to make you a Powerglide. He does them in round pins as well and you wont even need to go to 8 feet to get the paddling power. Mines 7'6" and goes good from 1 -6foot surf. He's on holidays until early October according to the website. Yeah it's an option ma...

Re: Mr Drouyn's fancy new vagina

The Ancients amongst us may remember a transexual tennis player Renee Richards who played on the professional circuits after winning a high court case in the US against the prejudice of only those born as women could play. So here is the scenario. Who will be the first gender re-assigned surfer? Wi...

Re: A bit on the nose...

I used to surf in a mal club and do a few contests years back and it obviously still hasn't changed. Cant really see how it can when its up to what individual judges like to see. I guess if you can mix it up then you have a chance to do alright. Banning shuffling would be a good move.

Re: Dain Thomas double wing quad fish for sale

I can vouch for Dains logs. I've had one for about 2 years now and would never get rid of it. They are expensive and from memory mine was about $1650 but its a work of art that rides every bit as good as it looks.

Those irrelevant trade unionists in decline did made a great contribution in getting rid of Howard thank you very much comrade. Purri if you and others in your workplace dont want the NTEU sticking its nose into your workplace then you could tell them to leave because it would have to go to a vote. ...

Just saw that . The warnings are out for Norfolk and Lord Howe. Sooner or later there will be one that gets our east coast courtesy of the shaky isles. Thanks again Roy

Re: Tufflite best as a mal?

I've had a few but went back to glass. It depends on what you want to do on it. If you want to throw it around a bit then they're good for that ( throw onto fire might be an opinion of a few ) .I had the Tolhurst 9'1 and its a good one and on a meatier wave could noseride it. I got a quad off Billy ...

Re: Bali Surf!

Just go surf the beach breaks around Legian and further out of town. Once you get a bit of confidence try a few reefbreaks but as the others have already said dont expect too much.
