Re: Quiksilver Pro France 2017

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Bit weird. A guy scared of sharks and pro cull waxing lyrical about the romanticism and rawness of surfing in an uncontrollable environment.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I'm in Noosa. These northerly winds could drive a man insane. there's a place nearby which is good to great and possibly even epic in ENE swell with N winds. Trouble is the swell isn't getting in. And the little bit that's there is swamped in surf schoolers and SUPs. #*! nah mate not there. further...

Re: Will spring have some zing?

I heard this bloke on the radio the other day; specialist in mental health and he was talking about some reasons for depression being seasonal and related to disrupted circadian rhythms amongst other things. Immediately the penny dropped. Soon as spring starts I feel this almost insane restlessness...

Being able to paddle out and catch a wave without some cnut taking money off you is a great and glorious thing, I do it every day and the idea of going through a turnstile to do it while lining a wave pool corporation's pockets is just complete anathema to me.
the truth.

fuck capitalism

Re: Kelly's wave.

What's interesting is its in a tiny town of 20 000, three hours from a breaking wave.

That would be the equivalent of putting the pool in gatton or tamworth. Power and running costs etc thats a rough ask to keep it financial.

Re: Kelly's wave.

Oh I imagine some people would be able to rationalise it. I can't. It makes me want to throw up, just a little bit. i was just walking through the coles at palm beach, and the thought of this wavepool entered my thoughts. out of rage I kicked a toddler in the face and their head went flying off int...

Re: Kelly's wave.

throw in the fact his wave park is in the middle of nowhere with only light aircraft access or about a 3 to 4 hour drive from the nearest beach.

business might not be booming.

Re: Kelly's wave.

Yeah of course would enjoy a turn, no doubt about that but watching the pros on the same wave over and over again is ffcckn boring. For me anyway. agree. although i'd go one step further. if i never surf a wavepool, i'll still die happily contented with my surfing life. i dunno, i just don't get st...
