Re: Ask Carroll

I have ask as we're winding down. The RCJ question sparked my interest.

What's your limit in the ocean? When does NC say no bloody way, too big?

Would you tow into 30 ft plus Jaws/ anywhere else, or paddle into 25ft Waimea?

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Nowhere. Pull up to the place I probably surf most - which happens to be out of the devil wind's way - and every cnut and his dog was there. SUP's, guys on longboards the size of the fcuking bismark, learners in the shorey, two guys on surfmats paddling parrallel to the beach then just straightening...

But sure Lairds wave.

Still way heavier paddling in.
Yeah I missed the this year bit. My bad.

Hey shearer. I appreciate your work on swellnet. Call me slow, sure. But I just realised you do the swellnet weekend report. You're good. Thanks.

Laird.
steve shearer wrote:I haven't seen anything close to that since Dorians tubes at Chopes a few years back.
Dorian. Man amongst boys, that guy. Maybe the favourite guy on tour I've ever met. In and out of the water. Still the guy I can relate to most.

Re: Ye Olde Surf Software?

Floppys have a life span before they 'go off' and are unreadable. That life span is about 5 years ... considering they went out of circulation in the late 90's it's probably a safe bet that they are corrupted.

Not sure about the cd question. Have you googled it to see if there are copies available?

NC. I know you touched on this earlier, but this is more specific. How the fcuk did you juggle fulltime work with an insatiable appetite for the ocean with two young kids and maintain your relationship with your wife. I'm talking primarily about the early years of your kids life, to about 5-6 yrs of...

Hey, thanks for ALL the replies..... You've all nailed it on the head, and some of you so much it was uncanny. Braithy...you're right I won't be swimming myself (or paddling out) to an instantly hairy situation, but I will push the envelope a little and see what happens. The particular break I have...

Re: Ask Carroll

Hey NC when was the last time you completely shit yourself in the water? Completely and utterly, I think 1999, surfing Teahupo'o on a six foot plus day, super perfect with just me and my mates out, caught a smaller one and rode it about halfway through the end bowl, then a 12'+ set came out of nowh...
