Re: Patellar snapped in half.

Did my first hydrotherapy session at the Delmar Wellness centre. I had a tough old lady called Jan who put me through my paces. She was scary but really good. Swam laps of breastroke and worked out. Feeling good and young compared to the others.. Met Wayne Warner from Warner surfboards, poor blokes ...

Re: Patellar snapped in half.

Just got back from the surgeon, got the ok to start swimming in pools over 27 degrees, I had to laugh as said only breast stroke and dog paddle no freestyle. The good news is if it feels strong enough feel free to try a surf in 4-6 weeks. :-D-: Just avoid cold water :-? I plan to spend the next 4 we...

I had my Father's funeral on my Birthday. It is funny but I don't think about it now only on the day he died.

Now you have me wondering who you were Fong. I actually met Bumbaclot at a barbie with a few of the others and they were actually good blokes.

Re: Patellar snapped in half.

I have done a shitload of walking, read a lot of books and am trying for the 20th time to learn the guitar and am actually slowly progressing. I go down the beach with my mate for a coffee but that gets frustrating. I was hoping to be being allowed to swim by now so I am hoping that the surgeon give...

Re: Patellar snapped in half.

Don't panic Don. A lot can change in 6 weeks. I went from thinking I will touch my head again I had so little movement but that passes,I still have pain but manageable to the extent it pushes you to stretch more with your exercises and you also lose the sudden sharp ones with time.

Re: supraspinatus tear

Well done for being able to surf but be careful. I had what was inflammation maybe a slight tear but could still paddle and surf with a bit of pain then went for a surf when told to rest and ended up fully tearing the tendon pushing up on my second wave. You will know when it goes, it is like a rubb...

Re: supraspinatus tear

Hi Merks that is what I had, it ended up being a 3 cm jagged tear and then when they operated they found a heap of other stuff. Get a MRI and find out exactly what it is then you can figure out how to treat it. If it is small it is treatable without surgery. When the swelling goes down, my surgeon h...

Re: Patellar snapped in half.

Great news Don, bring on the boat I say. I saw the physio and she suggested I try stretching the arm up the wall in a hot shower and to my surprise I nearly got it straight up. Feeling positive for an October wave. It's all good here in the pain and suffering thread.

Re: Patellar snapped in half.

Saw the surgeon yesterday for a follow up and got told to ease up on some of the exercises as it is becoming inflamed and to just work on getting the arm above my head. Not allowed to start any kind of water exercises yet (hoping to breaststroke soon) as I still don't have enough range. Took a whole...

I had keyhole on my shoulder, amazing how much he did. Physio was not that bad. Got my arm from 70-90 degrees out in an hour. Got a heap of exercises to do but feeling good. Good luck with the knee. Don't be surprise if they get going straight away after surgery.

Re: Patellar snapped in half.

6 weeks today. Start physio on Thursday which should be good as I have fcuk all comfortable movement as I have had to to do bugger all so it is a bit frozen. Fell over last sunday, slipped on a camillia bud and used the arm to stretch for the fall, been in a bit of pain since which is a worry. This ...
