This prediction is looking ok. Current tracks show it heading for the tip of NZ, reckon Easter is going to pump.8 wrote:Will happen for sure.... she will sit off NZ west coast, intensify and whirl like a dervish for a few days.

Re: Which board do you hope to surf tomorrow?
Wave height has easily doubled since this morning. Just went for a look at Longie bombie looking serious.

Re: Which board do you hope to surf tomorrow?
I surfed my 6'4" for the early this morning. Wasn't huge, slightly overhead but getting bigger now I assume.

Re: Where in Perth to live?
Joondalup is OK and close enough to a couple of reasonable waves within 30 mins drive. Lancelin is probs only 60 mins from Joondalup. The Attadale area is definitely nicer but would mean you would probably be closer to the Leighton/Cott stretch of the Perth coast which has way less waves, although c...

Re: Where in Perth to live?
I used to live in Scarborough, it had reasonable (for Perth anyway) waves in winter but you would struggle everywhere bar Trigg Point in summer. Trigg Point will make Bondi look uncrowded. Lancelin etc about 90 mins North was reasonable, Mandurah waves reasonable about 60 mins south. SW region 2.5 h...

Nice. I got clicking on some of the other links & found my ankles feeling numb watching this guy: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lTooK-WyiZM I'm wondering how his body will be treating him in a few years time. Payback will be tough. Full commitment to some of those gaps..... Do they strengthen the de...

Re: Margaret River
Really odd decision to run it at the Box.
It's pretty much a one trick pony wave. Not sure if they are trying to show they are mobile or willing to change things up....

Re: Ask Carroll
It looks terrible because the conditions are sub-optimal for the wave itself. Any location on the tour where the prevailing conditions aren't right for the set up and you have the same issue. I think adding Margs on to the tour adds another dimension to the tour. If it was all high performance point...

Reading Legions post I realised I hadn't given JD adulations and congratulations for the outstanding he made, I sent him this feedback about the Vector on page 93: Expectations and thoughts: Opened the box and was pumped, looked beautiful and crafted immaculately. It sat in my lounge room for a few ...

On thinking more, conflict of interests about the new tour owners? Internal shitfight? Is Belly a quik employee and does he now go with slater?

Re: Coffs Harbour artificial reef plans in limbo
The problem with these is they often build them in the wrong spot so they are ineffective which allows the detractors to point to them and say they are useless. There is/was one in Perth at 'Cables' down near Leighton, problem was it was so too deep and in a fairly protected area so it really only b...

Re: Sunday swell
I did minimal checking yesterday. I was at Freshwater in the morning and could see the Queensie bombie around the corner starting to break every so often. Freshie looked crap however the peak at mid Curlie looked fun. It was easily overhead with some double overhead bombs coming through occasionally...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
North to mid Curl Curl. Wasn't copping the full brunt of the swell but forming a big overhead A frame. Like a slalom run to dodge people when the sets came! Left when the lightning started cracking.

Re: old kirra
two thousand one is considered the last proper Kirra year. its last hurrah was an apocalyptic day in June two thousand three- the infamous 'weather bomb" swell. The newly laid Superbank, ruled edged, shallow and dropping off into a still deep, sand depleted Coolangatta Bay- which ensured both maxim...

Sunday swell
This Sunday is one of the more hyped swells I can remember, possibly because there has been such a long flat spell, in Sydney at least. My predictions: If it does go over 6 foot (Iggy scale of double overhead), it will be a lot less crowded than if it was 4 foot. The reality will live up to the hype...
