Re: Tail shape ... what do you prefer?
Just buy it. And if you don't like it sell it. :) The swallow tail issue was surrounding the board on the gumtree. The rocker question was more around my thoughts on getting a board with a bit more rocker for the better days around home. I like the looks of the Slater designs Gamma. Thinking the 5’...

Re: Tail shape ... what do you prefer?
Also,
If you had two boards exactly the same, but one had low entry and exit rocker and the other had medium entry and exit rocker. How much different would the boards paddle? Would it be that noticeable?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
It used to be relatively quiet (shoes) yeah, with the advent of social media and all the local hot groms trying to get "the shot" it's a fkn zoo down there. I only check it if I have a day off work. Great wave to shoot in all honestly so many different vantage points. there's almost always someone ...

my patagonia yulex 3/2.5 is very good. I get a little chaff in different spots compared to my oneill, but it's still really nice.

Re: Tail shape ... what do you prefer?
i'm thinking if i was to get the swallow i'd want to ride it with big fronts and a smaller centre.
Like an xlarge front and a smaller centre. I was thinking a set of Large reactors in the front and maybe a M3 size centre, which i guess would be the centre fin from a medium size.

Same board in a round tail and a swallow tail. What to expect?
Digging up and oldie here. I've got a 6'0 x 19.6 x 2.5 31.3L PCC round tail short board. there's probably a pic floating around on my quiver thread post from last April when it was new. Love it as a quad with medium reactor fronts or Large AM and performer quad rears. Don't mind it as a thruster wit...

Re: Europe in September
my wife is flying over half way through the conference to have a few days alone in paris. when the conference ends we'll have a couple days to spend together. Then she flies home and i'll have a couple of days alone. I'll do the sightseeing wine drinking swinging stuff with her. after having a look ...

Re: Europe in September
Also consider doing something cool sightseeing-wise instead. I’ve got to spend a couple of days in Paris with the cheesenkisses first, then i’ve got a couple of days to myself. It’s either get the train to Amsterdam and sample the cannabis culture, or tick another overseas surf destination off the ...

Re: Mentawai quiver.
If I was going to indo tomorrow, I wouldn't be going with anything flat. I surfed a DHD 6'2 sweet spot which had the most rocker out of any of my boards. I wasted a fair bit of time on my other flatter boards. I was on a single fin tangent at the time and had just taken custody of a 6'8. I had a 6'2...

Re: Quiver thread
Setting up an alternative to Gumtree. What's the single fin like? Do you like the sea axe? Is the epoxy mal Ne of Beau Youngs? The 7'7 single fin is sensational. I've had some of my best days surfing on it. Going to hang onto it me thinks. The 6'8 single was a great board too, great paddler, took i...

Europe in September
I'm off to Paris for a conference in September. I'll have a couple of days afterwards to head for a surf before coming home. I'm not going to be able to take a board with me but will have some space for a wetty. I need three things: cheap private accommodation - along the same lines as a pubstay or ...

Re: Quiver thread
canned the business idea. was going to get a few products put onto Amazon. Seaxe is sensational. had it out up at saltwater a few weeks ago. getting waves from the end of the point to the beach... love it. don't remember the last time I paddled that much. got the quiver culled a fair bit these days....
