Re: Where did you surf today ?
This page: http://forum.realsurf.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19245&start=180 Have only surfed it a handful of times so far, but in a good mix of conditions. It loves bowly barreling waves and lined up walls. Handles overhead, with ease. Doesn't like sloppy conditions or waves that section out or ...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Some well groomed tasty righthand bowly peaks coming thru late this arvo . Chest to shoulder high range but shapely and running all the way thru. Had the little 6'0 single fin egg out, with the 7.5 fin in moved about half way up the fin box. It felt perfect. It's like the board has multiple sweet-sp...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I guess I surf there maybe four times a year. I like Bungan and rock pools .
If I'm making the treck north, I instead just keep driving to the Central Coast . The surf up there smokes the NBs

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Looks like I'll never bother with it then . Can't see it being factored into my bi-annual surf trip to the northern beaches

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Where do you mean? Are you talking the far northern tip before Bungan ?
If so, no. I surfed the left that runs off the south groin of bongin bongin bay. Where the pool and surf club is etc.
There was about eight or ten out. Pretty inconsistent. Ok when they came thru though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Lefts up the top end of mona vale. Bagged a few. Some ok ones. But overall too much current and backwash from the swell being too south

6 foot plus down the line walls at wanda thru greenhill - and that thing would burn it up, eat it.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah the South swells kinda glance off the side of it. Not much wind protection from the south either. It gets pretty blustery.
Some East in the swell and it packs some real punch out there

Re: Just general surfing stuff
That makes sense. Particularly the straight forward surfing (which suits me fine TBH) - and the hold speed through long cutbacks (particularly on my eighties thruster, with the belly channels working in tandem)

Re: Just general surfing stuff
nup.. it was chris garrett (of phantom fame) putting a modern tweak on the early eighties martin potter twins. he also sells it here, but without the Deuss wankery and price tag. http://chris-garrett.myshopify.com/products/rocket-twin-fish I've also ridden an MR twin of similar size, and both boards...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I like twins in small surf. Not a big fan of them in overhead groundswell reefs etc. too much erratic speed and not enough stability and centreline

Re: Just general surfing stuff
The twin goes insane. It's the yellow one.

Fastest and most efficient board I've owned for beach breaks up to head high. It's just so damned quick.
Chris Garrett nails the performance of it with "like a skateboard with loose trucks, but on train tracks"

Re: Just general surfing stuff
No.
One is a big old single fin pintail, wide point forward etc.
Another is my eighties belly channel thruster.
And the other is a recent (though retro-ish) twin
