Re: Great White Shark At Longy Today

They were at it again today. I heard about Hammer Heads munching on a squid and the Tiger doing the stalker impression round Bronte area, but no mention of the shark spotted between Queensie & Freshie off the rocks there at around 1:30 today?? Looked about 3m to me.

Re: Great White Shark At Longy Today

Those 2 were smaller Sparky, as was the one today that was in really close. Probably coz there were no waves and these fish were in close to shore.
They're advising caution on northern beaches for the next week.

Re: Great White Shark At Longy Today

Bondi seems OK from what I heard, just northern beaches for some reason seems to attract them every Jan/Feb.
These ones must be early or in a hurry

Re: Great White Shark At Longy Today

You know...if you were a Clubby, like some of us ... you could paddle out on a rescue board, give the "shark spotted" signal (two hands raised directly above the head) to your helpful fellow patrol members ...and watch everybody just Flip Out in a hysterical frenzy, while you quietly cack yourself ...

Re: Great White Shark At Longy Today

There should be a correction to the news people who claimed the fishing boat 'saved' the people in the water, although it does prove everyone/thing hates goatboaters..... "Today at Long Reef a 5m great white shark was seen stalking a fishing boat and came close to kayakers when the boat carelessly t...

Re: Swellnet

The reports on Swellnet (and on Realsurf) overhype the conditions and quality a bit too much and a bit too often for my liking. Surfit (http://www.surfit.com/) is much more realistic. There cameras also give a better indication of what's going on (even though they are static images that are updated...

Re: Swellnet

Well if we look at today Swellnet said 1-2' to start then to 4' later where CW said 0.7' I got to Fwater @ 9:30 it was above waist high, by the time I got in the water it was consitantly head high with rides from the centre right down into the alley for those skillful enough, even on short boards. S...
