Re: Hypto Krypto voted "board of the year"
Damn. I just don't know which bandwagon to jump on, the hipster hypto krypto is the best board i have ever ridden or the this is the biggest marketing ploy in surfboards since adam was a boy. Decisions, decisions. Sorry, just can't decide. FWIW, I have ridden a HK and it was farking sensational in t...

And I'm with Larry. Haven't met Larry yet but have conversed from the intertubes from long ago. Would love to meet up with the good sir. Hatchnam, keep in touch with the surfing prospects. I'm actually in good form at the moment, relatively fit, and better than I have been for some time now. PM me i...

Yep, plenty of foam in them, plenty of speed and paddle power too. I need the foam, not that I'm big, just tha...

U still get out there olds? Haven't seen u in a while ? Well my friend, last time I saw you we said goodbye to each other and you were on your way up to somewhere, was it Gladstone. Yeah I get out there occasionally, but mostly I reserve my surfing for anywhere I can get out of Sydney. Surfed Sunda...

No, I'm a good boy out there, generally, but truth is that I have just about given up on surfing on crowds. It just takes the joy out of what should be fun.Beanpole wrote:Oldman. Everyone's mate in the surf.

Fark Steve, did it work out the way you said, or have you been wrong on pretty much every prognostication on this forum so far.
Just keep calling it as not happening, or blown out or whatever, it's working for us cube monkeys.

Re: Spirit of Akasha - Tribute to 40 years of MOTE
If you show up to surf in Byron and you haven't got a single fin you're an item of abject pity and scorn. You might as well be a paedophile wearing birkenstocks and socks. A hipsters paradise, in other words. It's hard to reconcile SS mocking cube monkeys from Sydney when he lives in the middle of ...

And on topic! No particular order. Mark Richards, because. If I need to explain it you are dead to me. Slater. Curren, a bloody artist, taught the world new lines, poetry in motion. Andy Irons - took it up to Slater, and changed Slater in the process. I'm not sure that applies the other way around. ...

ha ha surfing's blatantly a sport. . Someone contradicts you and it ain't me. Dane Reynolds: "It’s cheesy to say, but surfing is art. Once you get to a certain level of surfing, it’s your art". Yeah well I thought it was an art once too till I woke up to myself. How disappointing. Drawing lines isn...

From a non surfing point of view how likely is it that the lunkhead who punched and now killed that you guy would happen to have christie, the guys name, tattooed on his arm and now have to look at it for the rest of his life? yeah well I guess we will never know if he is willing or able to make th...

Re: why go so short?
Oldman is right: if you're a middle aged pen pusher who only surfs weekends and holidays then it doesn't really matter what you surf. As long as there is enough volume to catch waves it'll be fine. And the more waves you catch the more fun you have, hence the SUP phenomena. Fark it's hard not to re...

Welcome back olds. Where you been? Can't really post from work any more. On hols now, but still busy. If I'm not surfing I'm working around the holiday house or entertaining (hmmmm!) the kids and missus. Re: why go so short?
Hatchnam, I just put it down to a sign of the times. I suspect it is more about fashion than performance. To move 'product', you have to keep changing things, keep people thinking that there is something better out there. Then when they buy it, they have just invested nearly a grand in confirmation ...

While the charts generally haven't shown much, and I understand that there wasn't much swell in a lot of NSW, a particular part of the Central Coast has just had a 3 day run of solid 3-4', 3-5' and 3-4' swell, with beautiful conditions to boot. Thankfully nothing today, I've got surf soreness all ov...
