Re: Who still rides a fish?
That is a sweet ride beery - do the little side fins act like a twinzer set-up?

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Glam, While the ebombs are great suits - super comfy and flexible, i don't rate them as a warm suit in winter. The R2s range is 12-18 degree water. I had it in 14 deg water last year for two hours, outside temp 12 deg and was fine. It is far superior in warmth to any suit i've had, even 4/3s, and th...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Coll, I have two patagonias. R2 steamer and a R1 short arm steamer. The R1 is much like your long arm and is a great wettie, warm and flexy - just wish it was chest zip, which they don't make in R1s. The R2 is the best steamer i've owned. The wool lining is the shizle. While my mates freeze in their...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
G'day Moore. I had a turn on a 6ft zot - but way too much board for me. I know that Tombstone over on sways likes his smaller zot quite a bit for certain conditions, but i am hopeless on a single fin so i can't really offer anything valid. Out of interest though, how do the McCoy aficionados think a...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
G'day Pete, Nah, i'm McCoyless at the moment, but i am tempted to get something for the larger barreling waves. Just sold another step-up (can't seem to get the right fit). I would definitely look at something like the splinter - all the benefits of the nugget in the finer outline. I still think my ...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
I found the zap a horrible ride in comparison to my 5'8 nugget. If duck diving is the issue the wider nose and volume in the nose is the issue. It all depends on your ability as well as far as volume is concerned with these boards. If you like the zot get a smaller one. I noticed a 5'6 McCoy on eBay...

Re: Who still rides a fish?
I miss my fish days too Beery for the same reason - front foot driving out of turns.
If this was 4-6 inches smaller, i'd grab it: http://www.mackiesurfboards.com.au/shop (page 2)
I love mackie's work.

Re: Diverse™ Blatant Tomo MPH ripoff
I rode one of the tomo mphs for a while. A very different beast to my mini simmons. The tomo lived up to all the hype in terms of speed and performance - but man was it under-volumed. Not easy to get a wave on and based on the weight height suggestions it should have been fine. The great mystery of ...

Re: Six Ounce Boardstore Closed!?
You're both right. It is a shame that shops that deal with such cool boards can't keep afloat (bad pun hey) - but Ric is totally right. $1500 a board is just nucking futs. And it is also nice to support the local boards, even if some of those are overpriced too....

Are you test driving this Cuttles?! I want to see someone give Chris Del Moro a run for his money after his Bing Speed Square antics. I think the boys at rake have a small wave sled happening too: http://www.rakefoamshapes.com/index.php ... smic-slab/
