Re: Autumn fourteen
probably pure fantasy but access G has a weather bomb scenario as ex Tc Ita drifts down the coast into coast exiting upper trough.
if it comes off, I see ten foot surf for the Easter hols.

no, that is known in the trade as the faux-historical tense.
I suggested it to them over the phone last november as a way of increasing fan engagement with an eye to the inevitable historical revisionism which will be the yoke of the not yet born.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
heaps of tuna busting up baitfish out the back Never seen so many huge longtails in close range. Had an absolute ball chasing head high beachbreak and getting massive tuna hook-ups off the stones. I tried, I really tried to give a fcuk about Kelly leaving Quik but it was too remote, too esoteric to...

Re: Red Bull Cape Fear - Cape Solander Surfing Comp
Rip Curl didn't need a DA to get a full scale Pro event for Lennox. we petitioned the council and Cape Byron Marine Park to make sure that any future event submission would need a DA. I find the proposal repugnant but I suspect apathy will reign supreme and the event will become an annual fixture, w...

Re: Red Bull Cape Fear - Cape Solander Surfing Comp
Steve, I don't think corporations are going behind anyone's back. If you're to look anywhere, it should be at the process. Should there be a process similar to lodging a DA with council? A transparent process that is subject to community input? I dunno.....did anyone know about it? Did they lodge a...

Re: Red Bull Cape Fear - Cape Solander Surfing Comp
FWIW; when Rip Curl wanted to have a Search event at Lennox....opening the door for these kind of full scale events......we, being a bunch of concerned residents, ran a solid campaign of letter writing in the papers, contacting local politician, collecting signatures on petitions and organising agai...

this is a battle only local sydney surfers can wage- if it is important to them-but it is a sign of the times.

Re: Coffs Harbour artificial reef plans in limbo
I think offshore structures that focus energy have the most potential for 'artificial' wave generation. Like artificial reefs, but in deeper water to refract swells rather than make them break. Far less precision is needed, you just let the shoreline respond to the wave distortion. Triple bottom li...

Re: Coffs Harbour artificial reef plans in limbo
Yeah look I don't know if it's fcuken dawned on anyone but there's an insane number of unridden waves breaking in Australia all the fcuken time. They're not exactly a scarce resource except at maybe a dozen or so famous and grossly overcrowded locations. Drive 20 mins from most of those locations a...

Re: Where did you surf today ?
good question Al, glad you asked.
seeing as it's BA's first trip up the coast I recommend he stick to canned beetroot. Later on, when he gets more confident he can take a grater and try for fresh beetroot.
