Re: Where did you surf today ?

Definite covid impact on crowds today around here.
Combined with the surf being good on the Goldy, no one coming down from up that way either.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I generally check dbah after work on fridays. I take a longneck and watch from the hill. Only 80 out across the spread. I’ve yet to surf there I hate that place. Always have. Of course, it's not a longboard wave. #*! The waves look fun. I can't deal with that kind of crowd though. Been surfing good...

Re: The Tulla Tub

Re fishy boards, I'm keen to try the Pyzel Astro pop out there. Re pic two - Stoic! but i'm going to raise you a barrel poo stance. https://i.ibb.co/RYrJSxm/sc010466.jpg The board looks a bit fresher in your pic 😂 It’s definitely not a new board anymore. The Hayden thruster fins in it were pretty b...

Re: The Tulla Tub

I prefer your other shot, Pinnie. I presume I would go intermediate. Looks fun on a fish. What's the take off like on advanced setting. The take off on the barrel setting is crumbly then you do one turn and setup the barrel (if it does as they don’t always). They say light offshore the barrels hold...

Re: The Tulla Tub

I surfed pinhead’s board based on his recommendation. Saved me spending too much time feeling them all up. What'd you think of it Buddy? It was fun, had enough speed, predictable. Did the job. I found I had no time to think out there, it was just go, go, go. I think forehand I’d almost like somethi...

Re: The Tulla Tub

The health of RS again lies in polebean’s hands.

Back on the N coast this morn, great fun 2-3 ft waves, very consistent. Sun out, warm water, just me and a mate - was way better than the pool.

Re: The Tulla Tub

After going down the Vicco coast yesterday, my first 3 waves were far better than anything I got in the pool. Beyond that though, it was crowded and then the sets slowed up so I hardly got anything else. There are so many kooks in the water down here compared to NNSW. I think it’s because the paddle...

Re: The Tulla Tub

I had my first go at the tub this morn. Just 1 hr on the lefts. To surf it well I think you need to either rip or get to know it well because you need to more or less predict the sections as you can’t see them coming and line them up as you do in the ocean. We only had 13 out and I got a wave every ...

Re: Midlengths

That Luke guy from Byron on an 8’8 vouch triple stringer high volume gun in Mexico last year. He got an insane amount of massive pits, forehand and backhand.
There was an epic dbl page spread in tracks of one wave in particular.

A staff member told me if there’s less than 18 in the group they let them (staff) as long as shift is over, join the group.
Yes the surf coaches are cool. There was one in our group.
I meant retail/service/booking staff.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Nice lines of swell but nowhere any good that I could find round here. Didn’t search too far though.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

I surfed for 3 hours at the site of the proposed pool. 2/3 ft perfectly clean, felt like groundswell. Half of that time I was on my own, the other half with 2 others. The water was pretty filthy. That’s the only reason I can think was holding back the crowds. Everynow and then big areas of foam fill...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Far out, I think it is already starting to come through. Gonna be a fun couple of days! I'm dearly hoping a good night's sleep will help my back heal and quick. Compressed it on a nothing wave today that collapsed on me. Northern crew, how's it going up there? I worked in tweed all day. Checked sna...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Got some great waves on dusk.
Tropical rain, cleanish solid sets, flying down the line.
Caught a set to come in from big pine to the hut, onto the belly and straight in.
Best way to end a surf

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Water's brown, banks are mushy, waves are bumpy. But better than a flat spell. Been stellar the last two days down here. Headies had some absolute smokers coming through yesterday. I counted a bodyboarder in a barrel for 6 seconds. Outrageous! Today smaller but still throwing up some great waves. Y...
