Re: Billabong Pipeline Masters
i hope he does "rise" from the ashes... imho, he brings a lot more style to australian surfing than mick does......It'd be a mighty, ney, monumental effort for Joel to rise again from these ashes.

Re: Mentawais Vs Maldives
ive done both. if you are taking the missus, go the maldives. if you are going with mates, go the ments. but one thing ive noticed is that with the ments, its paramount you have a good captain. he must know the breaks well, so when it going off its tits, he can direct you to some more empty ones.......

Re: Kelly Slater's Wizard's Sleeve (and the like)

Re: Kelly Slater's Wizard's Sleeve (and the like)
check out this: http://surfermag.com/buyers-guide/surfboards/2010/shapers/channel-islands/surfboards-1.htm and the board that is due in 2010, "the gravy". interesting take. im not sure how many of you have seen the drifter, but rob is riding that "gravy" board of his in some pretty big swell. defini...

Re: ASP World Tour 2010
that is the problem with almost every westernised company.2) The executives of the big surf companies are on disproportionately large sums of money
as soon as you list on the a stock market, its all about profits and shareholders.

Re: ASP World Tour 2010
ok with ya now. nice reply. :) i guess i would just stand by my original point . if the tour is going to turn into something "bigger and better" more cash, sponsors then i would expect that these "professionals" would be training their asses off for the chances to win cash. (being the sport savy fan...

Re: ASP World Tour 2010
It'll also be interesting to see in 2010 just how the clear cultural split at the top level of high performance surfing plays out in the ASP arena. Nearly 50% of the new top 45 are Australians, who to a bloke are great believers in the "athlete" version of the top pro. Believers in the Californian ...

Re: Kelly Slater's Wizard's Sleeve (and the like)
There was a very long thread on the surfermag forum recently where a shaper discussed his new shape and how it was working really well and Dane Reynolds rode it and was stoked. The shape got a bit of press on surfermag's front page and a few other places, etc. Dane then took it to Burton/CI and sud...

Re: Kelly Slater's Wizard's Sleeve (and the like)
hmmmm, im really concerned about the board just being too thick? i currently have a bush rat, which is 5'11 (i think of might of stated that b4) and i like the thickness, but its just too long (imho) in saying that tho, last time i took that board up the coast (seal rocks) i got one of my best barre...

Re: Kelly Slater's Wizard's Sleeve (and the like)
My DOB is catching up with me so lately I've been trying a few different fishes and pod types designed to help the lazy/ageing paddler. I didn't like any and I don't have enough time to adjust my 50 y.o style to suit. Then I jumped on a Webber Minifish and all the lights came back on. For Sydney su...

Re: Lost some weight, been doin abs, surfing better.
Balance is another issue altogether, and that sounds like the sort of thing NC works on. I'm surprised the personal trainer didn't recommend all sorts of Swiss ball exercises, they usually love those things. yeah well i thought he would of. but not much. i have another mate who is in the whole pt g...
