Re: Engineering good surf, another approach?

Yeah, I get all the issues with aquaculture. You forgot parasite infestation, the issues with placing infrastructure in shipping channels, and the fact that the smooth surface conditions in California have little to do with the kelp, more to do with differential cooling and general weather patterns....

Re: surf rage. solved. apparently...

Didn't watch all of that, given it was something about dinosaurs I can only assume you're making some brutally perceptive comment about people living in the past because they don't want to see natural things ruined by the unnatural. So lets get a bit modern and technical with your suggestion, Carvin...

Engineering good surf, another approach?

So, I'm not convinced that we can make a good artificial surfing reef. This is not to say we can't build something that will cause improvement in surf, I just don't think that designing a reef for surfing will ever live up to expectations. No matter how well it is designed and build, it will always ...

Oneill: neoprene pocket on outside of calf with key loop, no zipper. Only used it once, normally use a Surf Lock. Was secure and easy to get out, but you wouldn't want a really bulky key in there. Xcel from 5ish years ago: key pocket no loop between the shoulder blades. Impossible to get out without...

Re: surf rage. solved. apparently...

And for the reef builders to stabilise the ocean floor, it makes sense they should close the point down to the public while works are undertaken. Safety should be a priority here. Oh yes. Occupational Health and Safety legislation should be fully considered and adhered to at all times when we are f...

Re: surf rage. solved. apparently...

Strongly disagree with all due respect. I'm with Steve, and I mean the last part in the political sense. This would be part of my reef building strategy, any time a good sand build up occurs on our coastline creating good peeling waves, a team of reef builders would move into action and cover and s...

No dramas.
Since been told by Huie that it's not V, but something a bit more complicated.
Buggered if I can figure it out. Glad it's the water that has to figure out what to do with it.

I'm with Steve and Beanpole. Well, Beanpole and his unscientific "It just feels like it".
There's a sense of latent energy in SEQ that I haven't felt consistently since the late 80s.

And I know where I'm going when it does arrive.

Re: flippers

Fong, if you're getting cramps it's probably because your flippers are cutting off blood flow. The most common place is the top of the foot. I'm guessing you've got high arches or wide feet. I've got both and flippers aren't made for me. Buy your flippers a size too big based on their size chart and...
