Re: Where did you surf today ?

Yeah-I think that's right. As were the Wallaces' and they were a whole lot cheaper than a custom.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Wallace....as in Bill Wallace, long time shaper from Brookie on the Nth Beaches had a "pop out" too. At Bennetts...the Bull, Greg Knoll had a pop out model also... think it was $70 that the younger bro bought. But it surfed ok...all one opaque colour as opposed to the Wallaces' that had the Shane vo...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Didn't surf - but I sat on the rock at Currumbin Alley and watched for a half hour some very nice looking (up to 6 foot) waves coming through.
Quite strong offshores.
I bet the Snapper Pro folk had wished this swell had come through last Thurs/Friday as opposed to Monday.

Re: Accommodation near Lennox

Lake Ainsworth caravan park? Headlands Park at Skennars Head Rd adjacent to Boulders... though they may not be your cup of tea. Speaking of which, Shearer maybe better suited to match your compatabilities with share house options. Flat Rock minus sharks has been good short term in the past...but who...

Re: Surf Cowards

The guy that did it is known to those who surf the line up regularly (not me anymore) - and its not a random action this guy has taken. Whether he is part of an older crew and considers he has "dibs" and therefore rights to waves regardless, I dont know either, but he does have a rep according to th...

Re: Maldives surf trip...

Havent stayed at both - but Lohis last Sept - (read previous posts). Its certainly somewhere you could take your wife and there's enough to keep most reasonable folk well happy. Its not 5 star if thats what you're after - but its a very good 4 star resort. I went with World Safaris and got the Surf ...

Re: Maldives surf trip...

Odda - yep I went to Huddanfushi (Lohis) with 5 mates last Sept. We booked through World Safaris and yes only guests staying on the island got to surf Lohis. Part of the deal through World Safaris was two boat trips a day (morning and arvo) either North or SOuth to Sultans, Chickens, Cokes etc. A ti...

Or sanding blocks that caught and gouged, And too or like everybody, carrying blank (almost finished) from temp shaping area back into the house so dogs cats and bush turkeys dont take chunks out of it - onl...

Re: The Real Surf Backyarderz ... who are you?

Sure enjoyed reading the trials and tribulations of making that first, second or in my case 20th board. At 57 and surfing for all but ten of those years I always wanted to make boards. First one was a cut down, re shaped mal that had a half inch redwoord stringer that I had to chisel out with one of...

Re: Maldives surf trip...

Ah Spork - Richard sure knows how to find the pocket at Lohis- but I guess if its your backyard you'd be all over it. Amy and Katie surf pretty good too eh - your architypal (sp) SoCal girls. i got a heap of good shots - I should put a few up too - as I'm sure you have rolls and rolls too. Say gday ...
