For longy: you can just park up the top (full visibility of southbound traffic) and just walk down to the beach. Dodge the parking ticket fees also.

The Cronulla banks are ok, you just need a touch East in the swell. And some size. Those beachies can either be great (walls and highlines that run forever) or completely shit, with water moving all over. A touch of East in the swell (more the better) and it's fine

On a dead south swell at Cronulla beachies - unless it's a throaty groundswell breaking at least a consistent head and a half high plus, then you're wasting your time.
