JJ, Go back to the store with your story. Explain rationally as you have here, with reference to your previous board's specs. If you get no joy, I'd suggest you read up on the ACCC website on the "fit for purpose" guidelines. Sounds like your product wasn't fit for purpose (ie capable of doing what...

Is it possible to be a seriously good surfer if you are over 5'9" (175 cms)? Andy Irons and Joel Parkinson are 6'0" Dean Brady is 6'5" Centre of gravity is higher, and you're pushing more bulk, but i guess you also have better paddling ability. I'm 6'5" and rubbish, but its not my height that's to ...

I f**ken dare you....I can be childish with the best of 'em. four posts and you will be my b*tch. (Isn't that what the young folk say nowadays) this could be good...

only 15? ok then ... you'll have to work on your timing a bit for unbroken waves, there's only a short window of opportunity to work with - between missing it and getting sucked over the falls. persistence is the key (as with everything surfing), you'll figure it out if you put the time in. if you'...

you guys **** if he is serious  my tip? paddling in to an unbroken wave is a lot easier to nose dive. paddle a hard and commit, to avoid a)missing it b)getting pitched hesiatation is the worst, cost me a brand new board and a big hold down  also, maybe you should ask TMC about how to paddl...

Thats alright, that thing will sink to the bottom. Nick is right the difference in skill level between beginner and novice is huge. But in saying that, the average level of ability in young surfers today is way above what it has been in the past. Now for me the barrel wins out above all else. A good cutback comes second and then all the rest. Aeria...

I really like the surfing of say andy, parko and jordy and dane for how well rounded they all are - big carves and airs etc.

i think a mixture of the types of surfing is good...
although i cant really do airs, as butts will attest to

will surfing ever progress? Reading that other thread about occ, and it seems people still aren't willing to fully accept "new" surfing. I know this has been the case since aerials were first pulled off.... And i do realise that the surfing of julian wilson and the like is widely recognized; but by ...
