This all paints a pretty bad picture for the east coast. When you add these developments together its going to be one overdeveloped mess after another. We are all responsible if we don't try to do something about it. I don't even like going up to the Tweed Coast anymore. What a scam those very old l...

Its funny about the central coast. You can overlook the most obvious spots and hunt for waves without getting much for your search. As far as "secret" rights go up there; I have found saturday morning is very crowded and grumbly. When the pub has been open a few hours it mellows out a bit :D . I may...

Yeah, I have been wanting to see those for a while. The last newish movie I saw was Down Side Up, I think. Hot surfing but pretty repetative. The usual crew, some good Hawaiian footage. That Bonga Perkins movie was interesting too with some great footage but I find it hard to listen to testimonials ...

Hey locals :D How committed are you to your break and is it worth it? Are you committed to a break that noone else will surf? Is it because its too mean or too lame? Thats a big difference  . Are you committed to a break that everyone surfs with hundreds of locals? Half of which you regard as b...

Good call, Wanderer. However, I really think some of those movies at $5 a pop, if your lucky, give you a real insight into the early days of surfing and also how Endless Summer became what it is. I wasn't a part of surfing or anything else much back then so its all new to me. One of the things I lik...

Has anyone else bothered to pick up some of the old bruce browne videos that pop up in discount bins around the place?

BB is right. Real Surf is real and its a site without any particular connections to the surf companies. Thats the point :D I really think the surf industry missed a few product placement opportunities with the Corby Trial though. Maybe they could run some ads featuring Schappel or baggage handlers r...

Yeah, name names. The fact that you may be talking about multi millionaires who run international companies shouldn't discourage anyone. After all they wouldn't sue you or anything would they? Maybe they'll get a contract out on you if you turn stool pigeon? Anyone got ideas for some o...

Really good stuff. When I came home last night after celebrating my brother-in-laws birthday I checked the surf forecast and thought the forums could use something a bit more topical. Funny how some people want to sanitize history. Apparently when these founding fathers weren't beavering away forgin...

Surf Companies and Money Laundering
All the talk about performance enhancing substances has made me think of an occasionally contemplated topic. Without being specific, how many of the movers and shakers in the surf industry do you think got their start by trying to create a cover for their ill gotten gains? Surely they couldn't have ...

"After the morals have slept they awake refreshed" Sorry to quote someone but its true. I still think a reefer would be nice on a sunny day at the beach or listening to some music....... but I occcasionally kick myself up the arse thinking of some all time sessions I f****ed up. We better have a chi...
