Re: When did the rules change?

I'll yell out if it looks like the person is taking off and totally oblivious to me being directly in front of them. Happens quite often in the eastern suburbs. Not sure how but it does. My pet peeve is people who keep paddling for the shoulder when theres no real issue with them coping a little bit...

Re: Ask Carroll

Gee all those shark infested moats around prisons would be useless if sharks couldn't see stripes. Obviously why zebras don't get attacked by sharks very often too.

8 is also like infinity. Very lucky in China.

That Winton guy...I mean how could you have him in there with heavy weights like Di Morrisey?

Re: SUP's

Checking out where some of these surf tools get produced in china. Talk about a mark up. Those really short, fat ones would have to be the stupidest idea I've seen for quite a while. If they are such good core exercise how come most admirals of the aircraft carriers seem to have prominent guts stret...

Well that means she has more surfing cred than half the posters on here since many appear not to surf at all.

Re: Kirra Groyne is Being Extended?

I like the floating on sand idea myself.
Can definitely see problems with implementation though.
Typical, grab the land then screw the council.

Funny how there used to be pole houses everywhere.

Re: Kirra Groyne is Being Extended?

As far as I know the beachfront pads at Boomerang are all built so they can be moved if need be. That was on the title agreement. This should be part of the deal. Yes you can have the beachfront views and amenities but you have to be prepared to relocate if nature takes its course.

Re: Kirra Groyne is Being Extended?

Fong I'm sure there are still a few pensioners out there hanging on to a bit of beachfront but how much hasn't been sold and resold 10 times over since the days when everyone thought it was safe to build your house upon the sand. Gee that's one of the only things I remember from my couple of lessons...

My current bong steamer is falling apart and has threads hanging off it everywhere. Big tear in the back of the leg from where my knee strap wore through. Might turn it into a springy.

Re: Surfer (almost) killed by whale in sydney

Apparently there was a whale 100mtres from me in the surf up the coast this week. Didn't see it because I was looking up at my friends on shore who were curiously not watching me carve up the ankle snappers. Must have been distracted by something.

Makes me wonder how many sharks I haven't noticed.

Re: Kirra Groyne is Being Extended?

Considering the mouth of the Tweed could be anywhere from Fingal to Greenmount some breakwaters were obviously going to get built. I just find it funny when people howl about "their" beachfront property being eroded. Just because you have a legal title to some beachfront sand doesn't mean the sea re...

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Managed a few days up on the mid north coast and gave the mal a serious workout on the ankle snappers on offer.
Really peaceful up there in winter.

One of capitalisms inherent problems is that it tends to turn things into commodities that would be better left uncommodified.

You left the fact that they are huge. Even the little ones. They have to be stored somewhere. Good Luck. A lot of the fatties on them look like frogs in a lily pond with aspirations.

Re: Kirra Groyne is Being Extended?

The break at Kirra like the super bank and Duranbah even more so is a combination of natural potential and man made intervention. None of these waves were intentionally created or improved. Given the simple fact that the east coast starts to taper back west past the most easterly points in Australia...
