Apparently it is resting on sand and in India they quite often deliberately "berth" ships by running them up on sand due to...

I've been led to believe there are methods of channelling stormwater through artificial wetlands to naturally filter it to a degree.

From there it could enter natural river systems in whatever direction it was required.

At a major expense. Dollar wise and land area.

Worth looking into though.
