That was 37 years ago at Kirra, and you can see the same shoulder shift out of the top turn and down the face in Dean Morrison's style today.

Deano's stylistically the closest thing to MP -- watching him is like watching a direct DNA style transfer across generations.

Hey Nick, what about a payment plan?? I'll take the 6'3 off your hands but $$$ are a bit tight at the moment. It looks like it would go well in indo too yes?? Yes it would go very well in Indo -- it's been ridden in various Tuamotu reef passes and responded with what I can only describe as glee. Bu...

Dont get too excited about swimming yet Nick. There is a lot of tricky joints to heal in ankles and swimming kicks can put funny strains on the ankle. Hopping around in the surf is also very risky. don't you worry sunshine, I've got my eye on the long term here. Have bounced back from severe sprain...

Peter is one of the best boardmakers in Australia, I've ridden a couple of his boards at various times and enjoyed 'em, and have seen numerous other guys do the same, including some really extraordinary yet undergroundy talents (ie Simon Bergin). I'd reckon Pete could make anyone a really nice board...

^^yes well he has a thing for flighty famous blondes. Poor bastard. kk you asked about me leg. Well nine days from now the surgeon will release me from the fibreglass, x-ray the damned thing, and decide if I can get on with learning how to walk again. Here's something odd: having never broken a bone...

people have a right to be afraid of sharks, and if something can be done to make them feel safer at the beach, then im all the more for it. Sharks aren't really about perception macca. They're big fish. They just don't kill that many people. "Feeling" safe isn't the same as being safe, being "afrai...

re the 3 metre sharks 5 metres from swimmers... I'd truly hope this not to be the case, but I occasionally get the distinct impression that the aerial shark patrol biz tends to sow seeds of public concern from time to time, possibly for their own benefit. Sharks often swim quite close to humans with...

EIGHT HUNDRED FRICKEN DOLLARS for a 1976 style single fin shortboard?... f**k me dead. I clearly recall throwing these boards aside in 1981 in Utter Delight at the arrival of three fins. And now you pay more for one than you pay for a 2007 Simon Anderson custom-cut round pin single concave thruster....

Re: Nick's Crazy Board Sale

has it got a tail pad :?: and is it drivy or wat :?: 1. No. 2. Yes. As Reef 2 states, he has seized possession of the 6'8". I can't believe nobody's gone the 6'10". You're all mad. That thing is a 20 second tube ride waiting to happen. The 6'3" is siiiick too. There's a bit of a duel over the MR; a...

as always I'm thrilled to see the level of discussion on the surfboard front. hey guard (I'll get to KK), I think the MR would suit better than the Hayden for a taller guy -- it's less of a super high performance board, more of a rolls roycey flowing board with a snap in the tail. Think 5'10" is ok and if you're a fit 65kg you shouldn't have too much trouble paddling it. I fi...

Don’t think Surftech or whoever the amalgamation is of Thai, US and Australian interests is listed as a public company. NC might be able to shed some light? Dunno actually. I always suspected Surftech (privately owned at present) were kind of a target for one of the big surf brands to just buy 'em ...
