Re: 5'11 Firewire El Fuego. 6'0 Channel Islands Skinny Fish

i'm interested, but don't hold it for me.
Got to shift some stock of my own.
Be a bit ironic if this section returns to the two of us swapping boards.

I've often wondered how places with rampant inflation fit the numbers on their stamps. Though I guess if nobody has the money to send anything anywhere it becomes a moot point.

Re: " but I still love the old world"....Where to from here?

Sorry Boo, tell me again how you came to that conclusion. I was talking about men following their ruling passions and living in harmony with nature, especially with respect to the surfing life. Living in the city necessarily prohibits or severely limits the potential of that journey. It's not a con...

Re: " but I still love the old world"....Where to from here?

so, a man choosing a surfing lifestyle or home location that limits their work opportunities to low paid, part time or piecework options is worthy of respect if not deification, but someone with abundant alternatives who chooses to spend more time surfing is an object of derision? amused, not offend...

Re: " but I still love the old world"....Where to from here?

Look at the price of real estate my good man. aw shit, not this again... Yep, and the price is constant and ongoing and chips away at your self-respect like a drip of water on coffee rock, gradually, slowly, eating it away. that made me chuckle. Olds knows why, and it's nothing to do with Skipper. ...

How's the skinny fish go backhand?
And how's the volume compare to the Wombat?

Re: " but I still love the old world"....Where to from here?

Good to hear. And am I to understand that you'll be back to Chopes this year? Thats sounds harsh to democratic ears and the consciousness of an entitled middle class that believes anything worthwhile can be purchased. oh, but it can. didn't you hear there's a bloke in the Pines with a wave for sale ...

There are movements of collaborative consumption, community market gardens, digital minimalism and others that are gathering force. And citizen journalism. Where's that interview with the Messiah got too, dear sir? Sorry to cheapen the thread a touch with a selfish demand. I want to add to it, but ...

Re: what do YOU want out a board?

Steve, I may be ensconced in the bosom of the eastern suburbs now, but I was introduced to sauterne by fibreglass boat builders, ex cops and pro crabbers in central qld. I was 12 at the time, I took whatever grog was on offer. FWIW, I can't stomach sauterne in any other context. And despite having s...

Re: what do YOU want out a board?

Gourmets (particularly those fine specimens of mullet fisherman found on the beaches of the North Coast) have been known to prepare the roe by smoking it and curing it and turning it into the delicacy known as taramasalata, which helps the long winters nights go smoothly with the aid of liberal dos...

Re: " but I still love the old world"....Where to from here?

skipper, i've flagged this topic for later consideration. For the moment I'm too sapped to drink the requisite red wine. The closest I've come to the 'soul surfer' is the old blokes I'd surf with in southern California. F There were some dole cheats living in the jungle in Sumbawa who might be truer...

two amazing things happened this week.
My wettie arrived from the UK in under a week, for less than half the retail price locally, and from what I can gather only about 30 bucks more than wholesale.
And I got a response from the ACCC

Re: what do YOU want out a board?

fresh mullet is passable, any more than a day old and it degrades rapidly.
The roe is best cold smoked over a couple of days. Flesh isn't bad that way either. Prick of a job tending the fire though.
The smelt tastes dreadful.

poddy mullet are great bait, i'd take gar over the big ones though.
