Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

I'm not saying that volume is the only thing driving design, that's insane. As is saying it's only a result of design decisions. But volume is achieved by design decisions ... thickness, width, length, foil, concave and other varying factors all contribute to how much foam is left after shaping. Vo...

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

What's your point? They've either chosen the flat deck because they like it and want to keep the volume down or the rolled deck because they like it and want to increase the midline volume while still having refined rails. I'm not saying that volume is the only thing driving design, that's insane. A...

Re: Twin fins as go-to boards

That's inane.

A rolled vs a flat deck, for example, is a direct result of a decision about volume. As is a beak nose.

Re: General snow stuff

I hope you mean the 9th? No chance you'll make it this weekend. The forecast for the higher points is 160km/h winds and up to 12ft of snow. It goes without saying but because you'll be frothing, the avalanche danger will be insane and it's not a good time to experiment off piste if you are a beginne...

Looks sick but it's not a twin
If thats not a twin fin, then neither are the the MR Super Twins ... the rear fin is an optional stabiliser.
I agree it's not a twin, my post a little while back was bait that noone bit.

Both look like fun options.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

It's more that if you're there you have to be surfing, they know you are gone for a while.
And they can escape over the hill or by car and be in a different state pretty quickly which make it hard to police.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

That bank on the northern end can be a board breaker, sucking below the sand on low tide and an east swell.
Also one of the best places to get your car broken into.

What the fuck is a bellybogger?
That's what the toilet repairmen call Grooter after a conference buffet.

Re: Where did you surf today ?

Surfed Pacifica this afternoon on the Christenson ultra tracker. Was definitely a great way to end the week but I am starting to think I'll move the board on. On a steep face it's a scalpel but it is too refined for fuller waves and flat spots. I wore the 3mm yammie because it was relatively balmy, ...

Re: General snow stuff

Appreciate the review.
I'm staying very conservative and using terrain management but if I move to Europe or find some decent touring buddies I'll get one, probably the Avabag with the Litric system and the swappable pack sizes for hut tours.

Lot easier to strap in and out with the buckles on the outside too.

That dude is a freak. That was pretty good snow, he is normally skiing and jumping on shitty snow and moguls at 70km/h and hucking 50 foot jumps onto flat transitions.
Amazed he has any knees left.

It's directional too, even if it has minimal setback and no taper.
So the writing shows you which end is the front.

Re: General snow stuff

Looks like you set it up backwards?

Assuming you are regular, your back foot is normally somewhere between -6 and 0 (+6 for a really surfy stance) and your front foot is normally +12 to +24.

With size 10 boots you may need to move the heelcup back too.
