Re: Where did you surf today ?
It's more that if you're there you have to be surfing, they know you are gone for a while.
And they can escape over the hill or by car and be in a different state pretty quickly which make it hard to police.

That bank on the northern end can be a board breaker, sucking below the sand on low tide and an east swell.
Also one of the best places to get your car broken into.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Surfed Pacifica this afternoon on the Christenson ultra tracker. Was definitely a great way to end the week but I am starting to think I'll move the board on. On a steep face it's a scalpel but it is too refined for fuller waves and flat spots. I wore the 3mm yammie because it was relatively balmy, ...

Re: General snow stuff
Appreciate the review.
I'm staying very conservative and using terrain management but if I move to Europe or find some decent touring buddies I'll get one, probably the Avabag with the Litric system and the swappable pack sizes for hut tours.

No worries.
Lot easier to strap in and out with the buckles on the outside too.

That dude is a freak. That was pretty good snow, he is normally skiing and jumping on shitty snow and moguls at 70km/h and hucking 50 foot jumps onto flat transitions.PeepeelaPew wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 4:07 amCandide is a bit like JJF, but much older.

It's directional too, even if it has minimal setback and no taper.
So the writing shows you which end is the front.

Re: General snow stuff
Looks like you set it up backwards?
Assuming you are regular, your back foot is normally somewhere between -6 and 0 (+6 for a really surfy stance) and your front foot is normally +12 to +24.
With size 10 boots you may need to move the heelcup back too.

That was funny.
I surf in the middle of the red triangle off California. I haven't been eaten yet.

Re: Planning two weeks thru Oregon and Cali in May
Fort Bragg/Mendocino and Santa Cruz have both surf and MTB. Redding is a good base for biking, if the snow has melted by then. Highway 1 between Big Sur and San Luis Obispo is the best stretch in California. Surf options are sharky and wild. That's a fuckton of driving in a 2 week trip. And a few of...

SRFACE look like a cheaper Yammie option. Doesn't look like they ship to Australia.

Re: General snow stuff
Could be 3 feet of snow in California over the next few days. Still way behind the average.
