Re: Josh Dowling Designs
Better late than never hey Slowman. Why do they call you that? :) ... JD I used to write a column called The Pulse of a Slow Man in an online tri mag and then it caught on and I used to write the back page section under that nickname in a mountain biking mag and it stuck. It's not that interesting,...

What are some of the meds people take with them in case of malaria? Also what do you do to avoid it?

I never bothered to look at this thread before it seemed to have too many pages to bother with...but I'm gob smacked! Those are works of art. The flaming arrow reminds me of a of PJ38 Lightning I had an airfix model of when just a lad.

Panaitan Island Tours
I have a saffer mate that has presented me with an opportunity to spend 2 weeks surfing around Panaitan in May next year. It is with PANAITAN ISLAND ECOSURF tours. It looks like it is a locally run surf tour and we know some guys did the trip (and survived) the boat looks pretty basic. The other Tou...

Re: Hawaii - Maui
Been to Maui a couple of times end of October, can find waves up at Peahi on the NE if you're lucky but over on the west side of Lahaina there always seemed to be a few waves. If there's not much surf catch one of the snorkeling tours out to Molokini from Lahaina, definitely worth doing as well as a...

1 week to go! I have about 6 weeks to go, been out of the water since June - I wore some bits out and had them resurfaced with some nice stainless steel. What has kept you out of the water?dUg wrote:2 months to go.

Re: backfoot placement
Yeah i am pretty pedantic about instructions - i snapped the board in the heavy surf a week ago. The curse was serious.... There was a lot of that then. There were at least 4 boards in the trash cans at my local and more were snapped but they were scavenged - so beware of resurrected boards...

Re: Jumping from a quad to a thruster
What I don't get is how many of you are saying forget about hitting lips or surfing tight in the pocket with quads and that they don't pivot. I have 2 quads and 2 thrusters and now that I have "good" quads they do everything the thrusters do but with more speed and hold. They also seem to go just as...

Tail pad curse alert - since posting about how important they are, part of my Balin tail pad came off my alien yesterday, only two weeks old.... Balin are on the 'list'. There are some cheap pads out there that will perish but you did leave it to set for 24 hours right? Really important t...

Re: bonzers.....the quad fad is over
They do look like some of the old bonzers G&S used to make ...I guess Terry Bishop or Steve Griffiths (pre Emerald) shaped them back then. They seem very similar with the deep concave next to the bonzer fins...only diference they weren't 5 fins and of course they didn't use the modern refined bottom...

I found the wrought iron gate all right for towing in, but they really aren't suitable for paddle take offs.disappointed wrote:Roller doors are good for the big stuff, and doors are good all-rounders but if you want something that will perform on those small fat days try a twin hinge side gate.

Re: Pridmore Fatbat 6'3
Thanks for the offer slowman, it's prob not what I'm after tbh. More looking for something more fishy if anything - something that surfs UNlike a shortboard. I'm down south too, living in the shire - but usually try to surf the coal coast once a week. You are welcome to come check out the board or ...

Re: Pridmore Fatbat 6'3
How about swapping it for a 6'1" x 19 1/4" x 2 1/2" F4 Stretch - almost the same board but smaller and less volume?

If you have loose trunks that centreline you're talking about is your crack :D Jokes aside thanks for the feedback. Just pulled the trigger on a Kingpin. Too bad tod...
