I remember a doco that mentioned a whole lot of Thai people who went blind from this remedy: They had STDs, bathed their eyes in their own urine and consequently infected their eyes, which turned into bags of pus. Just thought I'd share that thought with you... :x :x :x jeez Hawkeye what ch...

Nick is that wave in sth america a place that the Crossing went to, because i remember a photo of a place like that with the red/brown desert all around a perfect right hander. Apart from yourself Tubeye, have you seen anyone who is actually a good rider on one? I mean there must be some somewhere...? I might add this is not what is stopping me from getting one because I ain’t no good, it’s just very contrary to what I believe a board should be. Me. My little brother. Ros...

dunno about favourite but I really enjoy watching both the Hobgoods, they just exude surf stoke all the time. AI when he's on is the best in the world right now, don't think any of his peers (except Kelly) would deny that. KS7 is between true great periods right now IMHO, contest results notwithstan...

"Surf more" was the best advice here. The trouble with trying to provide specific advice for takeoffs on sucky waves is that there's a very wide range of sucky waves...and it's a rare wave in any case that only permits one approach to the takeoff. Here's a few things that hold true for most such wav...

Interesting that in yesterday's Financial Review there was an article that articulated why lawyers top the list of the country's most unhappy professionals. That's what happens when someone pays you a s**tload of money to tell lies every day. There's a lot to be said for the surfing life I reckon :...

Quik's local Japo licensee wouldn't be giving them grief by any chance would they? Couldn't think of a better way to wave the big stick and bring them back into line than by cancelling the major promotional event of the year. got to love unfounded speculation and rumour  , now where did the ca...

It's a crying shame we've disowned dole bludging. Australian culture would be the healthier and richer for it if we all turned around, laid back and reinstated this great tradition. A compulsory dole bludging period of twelve-eighteen months for all school leavers would be the go, like the conscrip...

Do you think that's what he was really doing? Or did he have to position the boat in safety and somehow get back out over the reef. Your turnin' into a bit of a cynic about people's character Knicknack  'Twoulda been piss easy to simply paddle with the pass rip into the lineup from where he'd...

Sometimes guys rock hop cause they want to prove a point. Surfed once in a Sth Pacific reef pass spot, first time there, just me and a couple of mates out, then a boat pulls up in the channel, three or four surfers, all but one get out and paddle over. The one guy is a muscly looking American guy wi...

As for Sunny, confiscating assets and public shaming may be more appropriate than jail time which in itself costs the public money. Then again the guy gets in a few fist fights so may have prior convictions. Well according to Sunny, during the course of this almost endless investigation he well and...

best one I heard of was Hawaiian Kimo Hollinger climbing up the rocks at the western side of Waimea Bay (the left-hander side) on a 25'+ day.

This because it was either climb up 'em or be killed by being thrown against 'em.

Witnesses reckon he was red from head to toe and didn't surf Waimea again.
