That's the kind of total koodom that discorages me from surfing at Bondi. It's pretty simple... if you can't <bleep> control your board when you're not even riding a wave then stay the <bleep> in the white water. And DON'T paddle for a wave if someone else (who, incidently, can surf) is paddling fo...

Thanks for all the replies fellas. Much appreciated. After such an event, the logical outcomes are - Admit your mistake. - Learn from it. - And never repeat it. I will say that I was very lucky today. As some have pointed out, it could have been so much worse. So to sum up, I need - better board con...

Positioning to Avoid a Takeoff

Apologies in advance if this turns out to be one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions. I was out in the surf this morning minding my own business, away from other people when a wave comes my way. I get ready to take off but see another surfer already on the wave in a left hand turn. So...

Excuse my ignorance but I thought rowing was all about the upper body? big part of rowing is the leg action ... the seat is on rollers and and the first , say, 70% of the pull through is driven by the legs , then the last part is a pull with your arms .... Aha. Thanks for that. I always thought it ...

dude you do realise that some of them would be Knights supporters? Chasing skirt and all is good, but there are some footballing principles you just can't compromise on.

A six week surfing course? So that is what I'm missing. I'm sure the graduates would be catching tubes and pulling off aerials at the end of the six weeks. And to think I spent my cash on a new steamer instead of enrolling for that course. On the bright side ... surely this move would increase the c...

Thursday evening: After a few beers at the Bowlers, I decided to end the night by sampling the Colonel's finest deep fried poultry. Imagine my surprise when they told me "We are out of chicken. Can you wait 15 mins?" Friday: Took one look at the conditions at Maroubra and decided not to go in. Was a...

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, I know the rip / tear was from normal use but the O'Neill website didn't say anything about that (they were mainly concerned with repairs from unauthorised repairers). I'll take the spring suit in this weekend and see what happens. Jim, is the Brookvale factory a ge...

O'Neill Warranty, Repairs and Service

Boo hoo hoo. Came out of the surf at Bondi this arvo and I notice there is a largish rip on the left inner thigh of my O'Neill spring suit. The rip is big enough to expose a 20 cent patch of skin on my thigh. I have only had the springsuit since January so it is within its 12 month warranty so I'll ...

Do you wax your board when the existing wax is stained black from your wet suit even though there is still enough grip? If your wax has gone black in the manner you've described, dispose of the board as soon as possible and buy a brand new one from the nearest surf shop. Or I could just get a white...

Anyone need rules for any other potentially awkward moment of surfing etiquette, don't be afraid to ask. Do you wax your board when the existing wax is stained black from your wet suit even though there is still enough grip? I mean, surely you don't want the surfie chicks to think the black stains ...
