Re: Tom Curren '92 J Bay best surfing footage ever?
Amazing surfing indeed, so smooth and stylish and in sync. Kinda off topic, but does anyone have a copy of, or a link to Occy's surfing in the Konica Skins at Bells from (1997?). Re-reading his book and Kidman and Slater reckon its the best surfing, period, so would love to see it-if its anything l...

I was hoping this would pass to the south of us but, alas.

Re: bob mactavish wrongly credited
^^^ Funny. I read Nick's post as saying that your reference to early Hawaiian short boards had about as much reference to the modern shortboards as the 6" thick logs of that time did to your "long" boards. Didn't think he was particularly putting shit on your boards (in this post anyway). But Nick, ...

Trev, I'm not going to call you on triple overhead at Crescent but time does colour things. I've said similar things about Angourie the first time I saw it but everywhere else we went was about 3' to 5'. In retrospect I'd probably call it a solid 6' but hey when your young its all a huge adventure....

That Crescent Head Trev? Now, here's the rub. My memory is that it was the car park at The Pass. However, we were at Crescent head on that trip also. And I can see why you suggested that. However this was in 1967 and when we went to Crescent it was bright sunshine and the surf was double to triple ...

Re: a different surfing perspective
I love head dips. I'm sure it often looks cheesy but its fun. I love 'em, too. In fact did one this morning. One where the wave was really throwing out, so instead of just wetting my hair, I had my head right inside, with the wave hitting me down near the shoulder blades. Great view in there. 8) Fe...

Yeah. I'm with Daz. Whether he pulled your leggie or accidentally jagged it, he owed you a wave.
I'm a hell of a lot older than the 50 mark and I'm happy to earn respect every time I go out. BUT. I also expect to be given respect as well.
Don't think he qualified on either count.
