One time it was raining so hard and getting driven by the wind it hurt - almost sleet hopped off the board and used it as a shield the beauty of it - noone else out couple hours in the water - come out - thermos full of hot chocolate then back out for another 2 then a hot pie and coffee at Klemm's (...

Autumn is sensational. Sunny, offshore all day and generally heaps of swell. And a distinct lack of crowds. Mate I lived on the West Coast of Vicco for most of me life. Moved to Sydney about 8 years ago. Yeah the water can be a hassle but only in winter. 4 x 3 with booties, gloves and helmet is the go. Summer is ok but hardly boardy weather. Autumn is sensational. Sunny, offshore all day and generally hea...

Mid-winter Victoria, early morning, about 5c, mouthing off to my mates about my new quiky wetsuit and how warm I'm gonna be and how their wetsuits are shite. As I'm putting it on, I put my foot through the chest leaving a gaping hole. My mates rolling around laughing. I had to surf in it and was obv...

Nah never had a crack at it Moneyman. Too scared I guess. Seen plenty of blokes go it. Last huge swell with Vic and Jason out there doing tow-ins was pretty mad. There were a couple of blokes trying to paddle into em and they were just getting swatted like flies. Dragged almost all the way into the ...

Ha Ha Stuey, my parents did the exact same thing. They bought me a second hand Rip Curl wetsuit (thinking it was cool because it was Rip Curl) but it was a diving suit. Totally spewing and copped heaps. Used to wear a vest over the top so it didn't look so dickie. (It still did but).

I think 1-3 foot was an understatement. I saw 4-5 foot sets easy. The bombie was probably feathering because it was low tide.

Tail Pads

Any advice on how to remove a tail pad from the deck of your board. Is there something that will remove the glue ?

Obviously not the biggest crowd, but pretty ridiculous. What about the Bower. Shortboards, mals, boogers, goat boats, clubbies on paddle boards and even on those long ski's. I've been out there in 4-6 conditions and people just sit in the break staring as you try and bottom turn in and around them a...

I'm off to Newcastle cause I got Tuesday off as well and my girl lives there. Considering the size of the place, I've never had it crowded. Always get waves and find the vibe is nothing like the aggro in Sydney.
